Troy Kaplan started TGK Automotive in Hugo in 2007. Since opening TGK has employed some of the best automotive technicians in the industry and offers ongoing training to our employees to ensure there is no problem we can’t fix! We purchase and maintain the latest state of the art equipment to make sure we keep up with the ongoing changes in the automotive industry.

We offer free courtesy vehicles when available, free vehicle inspections with a paid service, and a 36 month/​36,000 mile warranty on all repairs. We also offer early bird drop-​off and late pick-​ups when needed.

Business Owner

My name is Troy Kaplan and I am the owner of TGK Automotive, Inc. I was born in Saint Paul to Mike and Carla Kaplan. I have a brother and sister. I graduated from Tartan High School. I currently live in Hugo with my beautiful wife, Alana, our daughter Lexi, and our dog Harley. I also have a 12 year-​old son named Ethan. I’ve been in the automotive industry since I was just 16 years old. Since then I have trained and managed many shops in the Twin Cities area. I have more than 20 certifications in the industry of automotive repair. One of my main inspirations in starting my own shop was to give all my customers exceptional quality repair with an honest price. In my free time I enjoy golfing, fishing, and riding my motorcycle.
