The food at Maple Valley Bar & Grill is very good — I especially love the fact that they have a Gluten Free Menu and most staff understand cross-contamination. The service can be quite slow, sometimes even when the restaurant isn’t busy, but the food has always come out as ordered.

The food is ok but the service is slow. They are trying for new and different types of food but that doesn’t necessarily make them good. For example, the bacon cheeseburger has a breaded bacon that looks delicious but loses all flavor. The service is the big loser. The place was only half full but we had to wait until all the tables were bussed. That was made longer when the hostess got in the phone. Then it took over 20 minutes to get our food. Lastly it took another 10 minutes before they came to pick up the payment. We felt we spent a lot of time waiting. We won’t be back.

Went for $ 5 steak night and it’s a 4oz tough piece of meat served with cold«mashed potatoes». I say«mashed potatoes» because I had a whole potato in mine and it wasn’t cooked all the way… or mashed. They don’t let you sub out the mashed potatoes, but you can pay extra for other sides… Their wedge salad is not a wedge salad at all. It had brussel sprouts and fennel and dill and very little blue cheese and NO bacon! Don’t call it a wedge salad because that’s very misleading and was a huge disappointment. On the plus side, the strawberry rhubarb cobbler was delicious and the staff was accommodating and friendly. Kid-friendly restaurant with wiki stix and colors. Reservation for steak night highly recommended or you’ll be waiting for 20 – 30 mins. $ 5 steak night turned into small portions of poorly cooked, cold food that ended up costing $ 50. I could have gotten a better value elsewhere, so I’m debating coming back here. Even if we did come back, it would not be for steak night. Sadly, there was nothing special about it.

Had really delicious Mac n Cheese balls here! The service is nice, but they did advertise the appetizers in a deceiving way. It says«Try 3 and make it a meal» which led me to believe you could get a combination of apps in smaller portions. But I received 3 full size appetizers and had quite the meal to finish! The steak was the polar opposite of tender and I would definitely not recommend getting it. It was dry, under seasoned and not cooked well what so ever. But for happy hour and some appetizers, this place wasn’t bad! Definitely try the Mac balls over everything else.

Good food plain and simple. We have eaten here several times and always enjoy our food the staff. $ 15 for a sandwich is more than I want to spend sometimes but other times it is worth it. Plan to wait at peak times.

It’s alright… mediocre if you will. My food is usually good just not anything to ride home about. They do give decent sized portions which is nice. No matter what you get though, it always seems on the bland side. They don’t put enough flavor into their dishes.

Stopped by mid-afternoon to shake off a crappy day. Bartender was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. Wings were decent, nothing extraordinary but good. Rest of the menu looks interesting, so this place deserves a follow up visit(s).

Went here for dinner, service was extremely slow and below average. Don’t order a steak. I am told it is better for lunch and you need to order«bar food»

We had lunch here for the first time. I ordered the baby kale salad and fish & chips. The dishes looked like were made clean and not greasy. The winner that I’d be back for is the baby kale salad. The dressing was the perfect southwest flavor. I think it’s the chili or pepperish taste. I can’t quite put my finger on the dressing flavor, but loved it. I didn’t realize it had chicken in it. Although, I didn’t eat the chicken, for those that does, would probably like.

Great menu, had the roasted chicken, delicious. And the Mac and cheese balls are great. The 5.00 steak night…

BLAM Burger — AWESOME. We went in here one night after 9pm. They were pretty dead, but, after eating the food, I really don’t know why. Probably because we are in Maple Valley and everyone else rolls up their sidewalks at 8pm. I send out a hearty thank you to this place for NOTDOINGTHAT. During the day and on the weekends, whenever we go past, they are usually pretty busy, so if you decided to try them for late night happy hour, and might be scared off because of the lack of people, I suggest giving them a shot anyway. We had a great experience and would definitely come back. The service was great and, as previously mentioned, that burger was delectable.

There are several«bar & grills» in Maple Valley of this time and I prefer this one for the food and promotions. I can’t say enough about the $ 5 Sunday Night Steak Night. You family can go in and have a premium steak dinner(say, for 3 people) and spend about $ 25 total. Now, the steak is small but it is a premium cut of meat. And I have to say that people should really start thinking about«portion size.» Not only do you get the steak, but you get the sides as well! Do you really need a steak the size of your head? NO! The meal is just enough to satisfy and be delicious. I do have one tip: refrain from ordering drinks, even soda. That’s how they make back their money. Bring in your own can of Diet Coke instead of paying $ 2.95 for a glass each. Or just stick with water. That will really bring your costs down. I haven’t tried the bar yet but I am planning to. The menu offers up a lot of different items and not everything is FRIED as they are in other such establishments. The staff is pleasant, very easy on the eyes. I realize it’s a «franchise» and there are other«Neighborhood Grills» in the area, but it’s good that the owners are local(I think).

My son and I decided to check this place out for the first time for our Mommy/Son lunch date today and I have to say it will be added to our favorite places. The server Lisa was amazing and made my 5 year old feel special! The manager also took the time to stop by our table to make sure everything was good. The food was SO delicious and the Apple Cranberry cobbler was a perfect ending to our meal. I loved that they offered Salmon on the kids menu. My son is a huge salmon fan. The portion was nice and he had left overs to take home. Thanks Lisa for making our lunch date so enjoyable! We will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed my dinner here. Everything I tried was good. The spicy buffalo wings had great flavor and wasn’t too sour like most buffalo sauce. The Crispy Curry Cauliflower was great! I had the City Slicker New York Strip, and it was cooked perfectly, and great flavor. It came with green beans, and those were yummy. Instead of mashed potatoes, I got it with sweet potato fries. And the service was wonderful; out waiter was awesome!

Was visiting the fam bam and rolled in here for a Sunday breakfast. The place was pretty quiet, and we were seated immediately. We opted for inside because of the heatwave that decided to meet me in WA, but the patio seating looked pretty cute. We ordered breakfast tacos(my nice and brother raved about them), iced coffee for the niece, I had the eggs/pancake/bacon combo.(can’t remember the name) The breakfast tacos looked pretty darn good and the fact that they were gone before I could grab a bite was a good sign. However the potatos that came with them seemed way over done. Like burnt. But they didn’t send them back, they just didn’t eat them. I ordered my eggs over medium and they came out over hard. I didn’t want to send them back but decided I would because the yolk literally crumbled like a hard boiled egg… yuck! The pancakes were decent. They weren’t fluffy, they were sort of thin and had a bit of an odd texture. They didn’t taste bad, they just weren’t epic by any means. Our server was friendly and helpful. She replaced the eggs and was apologetic. I would say the service was excellent(and it’s way better than the food.) I would give this place another shot based on the service. But they are going to have to wow me with some eats next time!

I like this place. I get that the service is a bit flaky sometimes but they have gotten better. The spicy Mac and cheese balls are to die for. I haven’t had a bad burger yet. The beer selection is great and the bartenders have always been great. I’ve only sat in the dining area for breakfast and had great service. I think that’s where people have had their issues with service. As for me, I’m giving them five stars fort the service I’ve gotten and continue to get.

Bought the recent groupon and took Hubby out for a week night date. We took the baby and since it’s fancy(fancier than taco time) we went early to avoid baby breakdown/disaster. It’s nice to have lots of space when dealing with a handsy 7 month old. Service was good. Food was okay. I had the salmon and it was good. Hubby had HH nachoes and they were spicy and soggy. Salmon was better :) I’m not sure we’ll be back, I do love brunch and they do that on weekends now. I think they are finding their place in the community and I hear the HH stuff is good for a late night option. Prices are higher than one would expect, maybe they need to address that in the menu– sustainable fish or organic local veggies– there must be some reason…

Was hoping for better but just didn’t get it tonight. I am always very optimistic and give everyone the benefit of the doubt until I just can’t anymore. I came in while my kid was in a sport in Maple Valley and had to wait out an hour and a half so a beer and dinner at the bar was the plan. I forget the bartenders name but he was the only highlight. Very friendly and attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. Ordered the Scampi Linguini that basically was just a garlic shrimp pasta which is what I like. Shrimp were extremely underwhelming and one even was a half a piece of shrimp. A little scary there. Noodles were slightly firm and basically might as well have been cup of noodle. Did not taste like the menu explained as being garlic and basil. Then there was an employee who had gotten off work at the restaurant sitting at the bar near me who was talking and swearing the whole time. She was throwing things at the bartender who seemed like he couldn’t wait for her to leave. Maybe she was drunk? Anyway maybe I got the wrong dish or came on the wrong night but not a whole lot right going on here tonight.

Like the others in this family of restaurants, MV Bar & Grill charges maybe a couple dollars more than they should, but the food is great. Crazy that they opened a spot here when the others are in Seattle and Bremerton; it’s a sign that Maple Valley is really growing. Even a few years ago, you couldn’t get a good meal out here unless you drove for 20 minutes. Anyway, I showed up at 7 with a party of three on a Friday night, and the wait time was 45 minutes! Luckily someone was just getting up from their bar table so we were able to swoop in. I ordered the half chicken, my friends ordered the Caesar and Tomato Bisque, all of which were excellent! Our waiter was great too, very friendly and checked at just the right time when we needed more drinks in spite of the place being completely packed. The arrival of places like this is totally welcome, so go and support these guys! Just be ready to wait if you go for dinner during the weekend.
