Hunter’s Run is a première private hunter/​jumper training facility. We are located in Maple Valley, approximately 30 minutes from Bellevue, Seattle, and Issaquah. We offer board, training and lessons for beginners to advanced riders. Our experienced professionals are committed to bringing out your personal excellence.

History

Established in 1994.

Colleen Armstrong has owned and been the head trainer at Hunter’s Run for 25 years. She moved the business to Maple Vally in 1994. Colleen brings many years of experience to horse care, client satisfaction as well as a life-​long love of horses, people and horse shows.

Her daughter Meghann has been riding and showing since she was four years old. She successfully competed in the Ponies, Children’s, Juniors, Adult Amateurs, Amateur Owners and Grand Prix. After receiving a Criminal Justice degree from Seattle University, Meghann chose to become a professional trainer for Hunter’s Run. She brings extensive experience to our training program. Angie has been riding with Hunter’s Run since she was 11 years old. Her expertise is starting green and young horses, preparing them for shows, and offering a positive and successful first show experience.

Colleen has owned and managed Hunter’s Run for 25 years. She has also found time to give back in industry positions such as president and board member many times for the Washington State Hunter-​Jumper Association, North American Young Riders Coordinator, Zone IX Chairman, and recently served on the Zone IX Board for USHJA.

Career highlight: Being awarded the National Bergen-​Brunswick Corporation’s «Trainer of the Year.»
