What’s with all the MG hatin’? Over traffic lights? C’mon. I like Maple Grove. It’s quiet, it’s clean, and it’s close enough to MSP to be convenient, but not so close that the city feeling takes over. There are a TON of shopping opportunities here. Great restaurants, awesome little stores, and easy freeway access. Oh, and my best friend lives here, so that makes it awesome on its own.

Maple Grove, The City of Lights and none of them are timed!!! OK, Suburb! Lots of big houses, good sized lots, some nice parks, nice bike trails, good shopping… What’s wrong with that? Well for starters, you have to drive to all of them. I get it, this is the suburbs but really. How about a bike path that runs through the city, not along major streets and across them. Now the driving part is the reason for the review. Like many growing areas every few months a road is added, expanded, changed. Every time they do this they add a set of lights. With that set of lights comes the lack of ability or desire to time that light along with the others around it. You can not drive a mile in this city without having to stop at a set of lights! Really! This makes me mad! Doing Homework with my eight year old we calculate how long it will take Bob to reach the station if Bob is traveling 60 miles an hour, traveling 600 miles and stopping 3 times for 30 minutes each. Yet these«City Planners», who I would love to watch tackle Bobs dilemma, can’t use all the fancy city computers(if they’re not up to date, go to the library those are brand new) and calculate how a car driving 2 miles through 4 sets of lights(yeah 4 sets in less than 2 miles) can actually make that drive without having to stop 4TIMES!!! Are you F’in kidding me! It must take more work to make that happen than not! Now I know what the city says. All the major roads that are county road are done by the county or state, and I think that would be MNDOT and that would explain the absolute incompetence. the other side would be the County, State, City all make money off of gas tax and the more times you are stopping and starting you are using more gas accelerating than cruising at 45 mph. Conspiracy theory, not really just basic need. Make Maple Grove a GREEN City, Time the lights and help the people who live here save money on gas, travel with less stress and reduce emissions! While on the GREEEN idea. The Town GREEN Area by the Library which is supposed to a sustainable area and such a great design… TURNTHELIGHTSOFFATNIGHTANDWHENIT’S NOTINUSE. Looks pretty for those driving pass but your wasting electricity dumb ass!!! Really!
