We went to this dive shop off of a recommendation from our local REI. Completely clueless about everything, we didn’t really know what to expect but were told that we should actually try everything on. We just needed some snorkeling gear. From the time we walked in the door, we felt welcomed and well attended to. My boyfriend and his family are all deaf, and while I did some interpreting, there was a man there who explained things amazingly clearly through acting things out and was very quick to jump in and communicate with us. I was extremely impressed! On top of the awesome communication, the staff was friendly, patient, knowledgeable and took as much time as we needed to show us exactly what we needed, what we should expect, and recommended a place to go practice. They also have snorkeling lessons if we find that we are struggling. Honestly we were thinking about purchasing a cheap set from Dick’s BUT after the friendly professional service we had here, we had no thought of going anywhere else! I hope to become scuba certified in the future and I know where I will be coming! :)

I can’t say enough good things about this dive shop! Hubby and I both come from diving families — we wanted to get into it(I had done some discovery dives previously) and found that Aquaventure was a mere 10 minutes from our house. It was October so all open water diving was done for the season. We did our e-learning for the book part of the course and did our pool work in 3 days afterwards. Our instructors(Drew and Jeff) were great! Since there was such a long gap between our pool dives and eventual cert dives, we were able to come in Fridays and dive in the pool for free to keep our skills brushed up. The shop crew was always super helpful whenever we had any questions, and helped out with tips and advice on our gear or a certain skill when asked. They have a good selection of gear and their prices are competitive with what you’ll find online. The staff isn’t pushy at all in sales, a big plus! If you have a question about a piece of gear, they’ll tell you the good, maybe the not so good, and if it’s a good fit for you. I’ve had to return one thing(fins, and only because I found a color I wanted that they didn’t carry) and exchange another(fin straps) and both transactions went smoothly. We did our open water certs just last month and had a good time despite the cold water. Chuck was our certifying instructor and he was great. Our pool instructor Jeff also joined us. All in all a great time! We have also done the Nitrox class with Gary — such a great teacher and full of information and advice, always willing to listen and answer your questions. In celebration of our certs we did a dive trip to Exumas with my family — the shop was excited for us and wished us a great time. We are currently saving to join them on the 2016 Cozumel trip :) We are planning on continuing with our training and are doing the advanced open water course this summer. They have some kind of local dive going on almost every weekend and plan on joining them! So two big thumbs up to Aquaventure!

Awesome place for scuba certification. The team is highly knowledgable and über qualified. On top of that they are really friendly and extremely helpful. Ps buy all your gear here too, the prices are great and they will make sure what you buy fits your needs.
