Brick & Barrel Taphouse

The Bar and staff are great. The issue is you can tell that the same people that own Maple Glenn Pizza own The Brick and Barrel. The prices are way out of wack. I did try their American Burger I did order it medium rare and it came out very over cooked. Again great place to hang out for drinks and hear great live music but I don’t think it is a place I would have diner at again.

This place has a friendly, hospitable atmosphere. The food is well-​prepared and tasty, prices are reasonable and the entertainment is tops. Highly recommended!

Before we get too far, I want to acknowledge that I liked the old place (Allegro Grill). The new place really is an Interesting idea. It seems to be one half bar and one half restaurant. But the bar seems to have its own personality and crowd, and the restaurant part, it’s own as well. Mostly families.
Great selection of draft and craft beers, with good wings and flat breads to boot. If you are hanging out at the bar, the bartenders are pretty nice and outgoing. The quality of the food is definitely an improvement for Maple Glen.*
*For those of you heading towards me with lanterns and pitchforks, I am a resident of Upper Dublin and live in Maple Glen.

Intimate, aesthetically beautiful and hip. Good selection of craft beers and delicious flat breads. Bourbon and Burgers every Tuesday night. $ 5 burger at an upscale bar? Sold.

We sat in a high top in the bar. Probably one on the better spots as the other option is long wooden tables at the other end of the restaurant that lack any atmosphere.
Well this is, a welcome addition to the Maple Glen neighborhood nothing like it.

Menu slightly different but contains enough basics to make everyone happy. The kale beet salad was very good, BB burger nice. At this point, it is a nice place to go for a moderate price evening out with friends.
Crowd at bar is 40 — 50 ish.

Great atmosphere! The burgers are delicious and the truffle fries are to die for. The crab cake sandwich was great too. A very nice tap list with something for everyone and great bartenders. I can’t say anything bad about this place.

Great food and atmosphere! We love this place for dinner and drinks! My favorite is the calamari and the crab cake so far. My husband loves their beer selection and they have wine on tap too. The pizzas are also really good! We have been trying something new every time and have not been disappointed. A great place for a night out!

Went with the family for the first time last night. Food was good, pizza, burger, salad and calamari. Great beer selection, and decent house wine at decent prices. Very very loud! Difficult to have conversation with family at the table. Also, too easy to hear the vulgarity coming from the bar due to bad acoustic.
Probably won’t return.

We decided to tryout this new local bar after our basketball game on Thursday night. We got there around 10:30PM. The place is basically a big bar with small seating/​dining area. It was busy by the bar and we waited for someone to seat us. We didn’t see anyone except one bartender. After a few minutes, I went up to the bar and spoke to the bartender. He informed kitchen and seating area were closed and only bar was open. They are supposed to open until 2AM. Based on the initial look, I don’t expect a fine dining. Don’t go there a late night snack. We ended up going to Buffalo Wild Wings. I am open to trying out lunch or dinner.

Great tap list that is always changing. I’ve been there twice and enjoyed everything thing we’ve ordered.

My husband and I went here for the first time on Saturday night. Even though we had some issues, I would like to go back and give it another try.
Our server was awesome and I wish that I could remember her name. Dark hair and glasses, she was very attentive even though the place was packed.
I really like the décor and atmosphere but agree with other reviewers that the bar seems to take up a lot of space here.
Note the owners: PLEASE update your menu to say that there are onions on the cheese fries! We ordered them without scallions– which were stated on the menu. I hate onions and anything that resembles an onion. So our when our order came out sans scallion but slices of onion, it had to go back. I checked the menu again to make sure that I didn’t miss it. Nope. It said nothing about onions. I have two friends that live in the area that hate this food as much as I do and if they place the same order, I know they will also send it back. That is lost revenue and wasted food for you.
I ordered my fried egg burger medium well and it came out medium rare so that had to go back to. The waitress was apologetic and I understand that she didn’t make the burger. It wasn’t her fault. A manager visited our table and took care of the issue. I wasn’t trying to be a jerk and play the «send the food back for a freebie» game. It just wasn’t cooked enough. New burger comes out and it is done perfectly the now the roll is burnt. Obviously, the kitchen hated me. I didn’t bother to say anything about the roll and just moved it off of my plate. The burger itself was really good.
I would also like to note that when the fries went back, they made us a completely fresh order. I really appreciated that. It sounds like I’m being picky but imagine a food that you hate and multiply that by 10. That is how I feel about onions. I would much rather wait longer to have it done right– which is exactly what they did.
Stuff happens and it just so happen to be our table that had problems. This place is new which is another fact to consider. As mentioned, I’ll give it a try again.

This was my first trip up da street to this newly opened pub in downtown Maple Glen :-). There’s a large rectangular bar with TV’s all over the place, hooks for your bags and outlets for your phone chargers under the bar are really nice touch. Tables to the right as you walk in, but I won’t be needing them.
As far as the food goes, the Brick and Barrel wings «tossed» with rosemary and onions were OK, a little too wet for my liking. The wings weren’t jumbo like the menu stated and the onions were smothering the wings on the plate. The wild mushroom pizza with smoked provolone and truffle oil had a nice crust and flavor, not mind blowing as I expected.
Service at the bar was excellent and the draft beer selection very good too, plenty to chose from.
Glad I found a new hangout close to home. I got tired of the old dirty Fireside Bar in Ambler with less than necessary parking and I exhausted the menu at Tex-​Mex in North Wales. So this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. But I still miss the Drafting Room. :-(

Luckily came across this place in a search for somewhere to watch eagles game and eat.
Got really lucky. This place is great. I walked in feeling like outsider but the bartender was really nice and welcoming.
The reviews on Unilocal do not live up to actual experience. Had the signature with wings and they were top notch. Friend had a burger, which is pictured, and gave a good review. Those only come for well deserved meals.
I would recommend this to anyone. I will be back.

Really good food (we tried the pizza, wings, salad, and mac n cheese) and large bar with lots of TV screens. Has a rustic feel. A little pricey, wish they had a cheaper lunch menu. And FYI to parents, the bathroom does not have a changing table for babies.

Food is really good! Great layout and vibe.
Huge drink selection. The truffle fries are a must have! And the small plate menu is really good too! Definitely a place to visit!

This place has potential. Word has it, one of the owners of Maple Glen Pizza opened this place up, so I am not sure if they are still working out kinks or what. The food was eh, not the greatest, expensive for what it was and they do not have a great menu. You would think they would over bread at the table with it being a brick oven establishment with pasta dishes offered. Tons of beers on tap. A good amount of TVs. This place will probably survive on the bar end of things, but I hope they can figure out the food side to make this place a hit. For now, maybe just go in for a drink.

Place was hopping on a Saturday night. It was about an hour wait without a reservation. Ended up going to the bar and grabbing some drinks and appetizers from the illustrious beer selection.
Thus had a vast variety of IPAs and double IPAs along with a few non hoppy and Belgian selections.
Ended up getting the wings which were a great dry rub not too greasy consistency along with the «cheese» fries. This was essentially a potato quartered deep fried than covered in a very original fresh liquid cheese type sauce. Nothing out of a can but a freshly made accompaniment. Excellent overall. Good look to the interior and next time might have to sample some bourbon.

FINE CASUAL DINING FINALLY ARRIVES TO MAPLE GLEN.
I just had to get that out of my system.
I first visited on a Saturday night hoping for a cocktail and carryout so I could watch college football at home in the mancave. Good Luck with that. The place was PACKED; 3-​deep at the bar. The food smelled wonderfully.
So, I made a plan to come back for lunch.
So far, I could not be happier Brick & Barrel has opened in Maple Glen. The new interior of the building is fresh with just the right accents.
When you first walk in to the place, table seating is to the right and a LARGE walk-​around bar is to the left. You should just stop when you first walk in and soak it right up.
The bar has comfortable seats, there is an extensive beer menu and full bar. There are flat panels located everywhere and there is good line-​of-​sight.
But the food. It is an eclectic combination of casual dining (burgers and fries) along with some fine dining options like: Grilled octopus, grilled salmon, edemame dumplings, tuna tartar, etc. You get the picture.
I had a signature B&B Burger (it was lunch) and it was really good. While I WAS hungry, the burger was really good. At least as good as the Feed Store in Ambler.
I experienced a Wells Bombardier Bitter to go along with my lunch. It was so good, I ordered another.
The staff seems pleasant, genuine, and LOCAL. Lauren the bartender was nice, professional, and laughed at our dumb jokes. She’ll do well here.
Brick & Barrel is exactly what Maple Glen needed. No diss to The Pistachio Grille. It still has a great menu. But, Brick & Barrel has a completely different, more energetic pulse.
Try it. I believe you will enjoy it.

Excellent food, excellent service, great atmosphere. They have a great selection of beer on tap, amd a good choice of wines. We had a bunch of appetizers, all of which were amazing: wings, calamari, and shrimp. The entrees were just as amazing.
The guys did an amazing job with the buildout as well. No detail was overlooked. It will quickly be the top place in the area.

The Brick & Barrel Taphouse is located in the building that formerly was the Allegro Grill. The building has undergone an extensive renovation and they did a fantastic job. As you walk in there is a large bar with multiple TV’s and a dining area off to the right with an open air kitchen opposite the main entrance. This establishment is definitely more bar than restaurant (27 drafts) but they do have a nice menu that includes brick open pizza. The draft list was impressive for the area and included New Belgium Fat Tire, Southern Tier PumpKing and a few more that I can’t remember. I will definitely be back and this spot is great for watching sporting events.
