Opening Fall 2016!

Imagine sun soaked days at the beach, locally roasted coffee in the morning, wine tasting in the afternoon and evenings around the firepit, sipping handcrafted wine and making S’mores…this is The Winery at Manzanita Experience!

In the morning we offer pastries and breakfast sandwiches to pair with your local coffee or tea.

To accompany the wines in the afternoon and evening, we serve picnic lunches to go, hand packed burgers, brats, sausages, hot dogs and paninis at lunch and dinner. DIY S’mores kits are available to be assembled over the fire pits.

We welcome families, wine aficionados and their dogs!

History

Established in 2016.

Mark Proden, owner and winemaker, founded Bodhichitta Winery in 2008 while attending wine school, making small batches of wine (10 – 100 cases at a time) by hand in Salem, Oregon. He became interested in wine during his 11 years in the Air Force as a pilot and engineer, visiting Napa and Sonoma and eventually Oregon as Pinot noir grew in popularity here.

He had been making his wines in a small space in Salem, Oregon, and began looking for a new building, a location inspired by nature, that would allow for increased production while maintaining high quality. Manzanita came to mind, as Mark had made many trips there with his black lab Pinot, mainly for its long, dog-friendly, lease-free beach and awe-inspiring sunsets.
