The food is delicious. The grilled catfish is excellent, fried pickles are really good, fried fish and shrimp are delicious. Service is always great as well.

Again my fellow Unilocalers have failed me. I’m not sure what to do. Perhaps, my standards are too high. This restaurant was not what I consider good seafood food. The appetizers taste frozen. The fish and fries taste frozen. Cmon people. SMH. They only thing I will give them is the salad and coleslaw is really fresh and tasty. Don’t come here for fresh seafood, if that’s what you are looking for. Told the waitress we didn’t eat the hush puppies as they were too salty and she said she was «Sorry». Never Again. Party of four all left nauseous.

We first ate at this location because it was a midway point between two family homes.
We had the fried catfish and calamari. Both were outstanding.
Sam Sled visit we’ve stopped twice on our way back from Galveston and have had the exact same order.
I can’t speak for any of the other items on the menu but they all sure look delicious as they pass our table.
Great food at affordable prices. A new regular stop traveling to or returning from the island.

Definitely added to the GPS and will be a stop when south of Houston. Great Fried Shrimp. Food is great. The seats/​tables could use updating. IMHO, they should raise the prices just a bit to redo the seating.

fried fish is delicious. shrimp breaded to perfection, chicken fried steak very good. have not had anything bad. prices are affordable. love this place.

It’s all worth it. Everything was hot and fresh without complaints. Had the crab cakes, fried catfish, baked potato, coleslaw. Enough to get full and enough to take home for leftovers. I’m going back to see what else taste good.

We had a wonderful dinner. …great customer service! I had the Blackened stuffed salmon with dirty rice and vegetables. It was delicious with the stuffing being a boudin style rice. For the appetizer, we had the Mexican shrimp cocktail. It had fresh avocado and not extremely spicy. The dining room has 3 big screen TV and watched the game while we ate. It was the next best thing to being at home!

Went there 1 time and the seafood was nasty. The service was terrible. Got some sort of weird peanut sauce with our calamari as they had no marinara. I’ve been assured by friends that the burgers are good and we should give it another chance. Idk we’ll see but I’m weary…

I ordered to-​go while coming back from Surfside on a Saturday night, so I will not berate these guys for taking 30 minutes to get my order together. They were pretty slammed, and the staff went to check on our order several times, and were apologetic that it was taking so long. To this, I’ll say «You can’t rush perfection.» I ordered a five piece fried fish, hush puppies and cream cheese jalapenos, not knowing any better than to do so. When ordering, I had other establishments in mind as far as portion size goes. My wife had the 1 fried fish, 10 fried oysters and 10 fried shrimp platter. Everything was remarkably fresh and seasoned to perfection. Let me caution you though… the portions are ridiculously filling, so it’s very easy to over-​order. Not that that’s a bad thing. I ate fish until I was stuffed, and I still have a full to-​go plate of food. My wife is still working on hers, slowly but surely. The stuffed jalapenos and hush puppies were obviously from a bag, but as busy as these guys stay, I don’t blame them for going the Sysco route on those items. So to wrap it up, I think that it speaks volumes that I felt compelled to open my laptop and review this restaurant before I even turned my television on upon returning home. Very, very, very good seafood. We will be back.

Went for anniversary dinner… Had the crawfish, so good. Perfect spice. Started with 2lbs and ended up ordering more! Definitely will be back for more:)

I’ve been here a few times and the food has been consistently delicious but the service has been consistently slow. If you go during lunch or dinner, be prepared to wait. With good prices and tasty food, this place fills up fast. It’s not big at all inside.
I’ve tried hushpuppies, corn nuggets, the burger that comes on a sweet sourdough bun), fried shrimp, stuffed crab (a bit too much bread stuffing and not enough crab but still good), shrimp gumbo, shrimp po boy.
So far I’ve loved everything I’ve had and love the prices. I’ll definitely be going back again.

Delicious seafood! This reminded me of the type of joint you would see on Diners, Drive-​Ins, and Dives– it’s small and not beautiful but the food was amazing. My boyfriend and I pigged out and ordered both fried pickles and fried squid as an appetizer– so good! The pickles are thin chips fried oh so perfectly served with ranch. The squid was also delicious and was served with a thin Asian-​y type sauce, which was tasty. I got fried catfish with fries and a salad for my dinner; three giant filets of perfectly fried fish for $ 8. Crazy! They were happy to accommodate my boyfriend’s request to make a combination platter of fried frog legs, fried crawfish, and fried shrimp with fries and cole slaw. It was all delicious. Only minor downside is they only have beer, not a full bar but that’s hardly an issue. If you want delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked seafood, come check this place out!!!

Delicious seafood (we always get the fish, shrimp, oysters and crawfish), friendly staff/​owner and never have to wait long for food. LOVE the tarter sauce, I think it’s homemade. Parking can be tight, but we just wait for a less busier time to go and there’s no problem.

Fantastic fried seafood, I have to say that I am impressed. Lots of combos to choose from. I had the fried shrimp and stuffed stuffed crab plate. The fried shrimp were great! Hot, fresh and well seasoned with the perfect amount of batter. The crab was mostly stuffing but still had a great flavor. I also tried the fried catfish, I am super picky when it comes to fish and this was some of the best catfish that I have ever tried.
Service was very good and all the employees were friendly. This place does get busy so you may have a short wait, its worth it. Great place to get seafood in the Manvel /​Alvin area.

First time here and I was impressed, had crawfish for appetizers and they were on point !!! Blackened catfish was by far PERFECT, seasoned and cooked deliciously. Will definitely return !

The crawfish is awesome and the service was great! The restaurant was very busy but the owner Johnny and his employees didn’t skip a beat taking care of everyone! The crawfish was seasoned perfectly!

BUYER BEWARE!!!
DO NOT buy the crawfish unless you want explosive diarrhea, stabbing pains in your stomach, and nausea with projectile vomiting. My boss and I ate the crawfish yesterday, 2÷4÷15, and we both are suffering the above stated symptoms. Some of the crawfish were cold, others the tails just flaked apart and mushy. (Maybe they were dead before cooking… Or taken off another customers plate as leftovers and served to us??? Idk.) It concerns me as I saw several other people eating the crawfish yesterday. Stay away from the mud bugs!!!

We decided to try Manvel Seafood one evening for dinner. First impression when we walked in was that it looked like it was a Chinese restaurant at one time in the past. We ordered after we were sat and our waitress was very friendly. Menu prices were reasonable as well. I ordered fried jumbo shrimp and my wife ordered fried catfish. We got are food relatively fast. I did not like my shrimp at all. It was very bland. My wife’s catfish on the other hand, very tasty. We will return because of the service and catfish. I hesitant to give the shrimp a second chance but I may, just to see if maybe it was a fluke.

After reading reviews and speaking to friends I was very excited about this establishment. However, it did not meet my expectations or excite my taste buds.
I order Stuffed Shrimp with a side salad and French fries. Stuffed shrimp stuffing was gooey and appeared to me under cooked. When i asked about the consistency i was told the owner makes it herself and the batter when fried suppose to be that way. Ugh… Didnt eat it.
My younger son’s burger was excellent! Sourdough bread — yummy.
My older son ordered a large bowl of seafood gumbo & 2 pounds of crawfish. I had to literally force him to eat the gumbo. He did not like the thickness of the liquid. He also said it was slimy. The crawfish had spice but no flavor. Needless to say — get the Burgers…
