We are the number 1 provider of air transportation to & from the remote NC Outer Banks. Our primary demand has been from Eastern Seaboard customers, but we fly everywhere. Continued growth demands more aircraft & pilots, currently in process. We also perform standard & custom air tours of the area.

History

Established in 1997.

We’ve been flying on demand air charters (FAA Part 135 Air Carrier Operations) since 1997. Originally operating under 4 other air carrier’s certificates, we finally obtained our own FAA Certificate in 2008. That complex process took almost 5 years of Federal Government paperwork & negotiations. With tremendous growth through tough economic times, we decided to upgrade our operations to multiple aircraft & pilots in 2012. That process should be complete in 2015, and we will become Outer Banks Airlines.

Business Owner

Owner/​CEO Charlie Snow began flying in the Civil Air Patrol in 1961. Flying has been a hobby since, with a break only during his college days. After graduating from Virginia Tech, he worked for the FAA for the next 20 years, obtaining advanced ratings & a glider pilot certificate. He was an engineer, project manager & pilot. His first commercial pilot job was flying electronic aerial ads at night over Atlanta. Finally, moving closer to his Wilmington, NC birthplace, he settled on the NC Outer Banks & began flying passengers & freight for hire in 1990.
