Manager

Served in the Marine Corps for 5 years. 02 – 08. When I separated from the Corps, I went to work for my friend of over 14 years at Tokay Shell as a gas station attendant and service writer. I was employed there for all of 2008 and when Smog Tech 1 was opened I was moved to the Manteca location in Feb of 2009. Love working here and being apart of the Manteca community and it’s patriotic spirit.

I have been going here for years. Always had good service. Today I went for my truck’s 3rd smog at this location. I was told by a new smog technician that my engine tuner needed an executive order from the manufacturer. I went home and happen to have it handy along with a previous year smog check that passed by them since they said that would help. I was frustrated but more at the good ol’ state of california smog laws rather than them.
I came back, they took my paper work and went into the back office for about 15 minutes. A nice lady came out from the back office and told me that executive order was for a previous year of my truck and not my year. She said they were trying call the manufacturer of the engine tuner and obtain the correct executive order number. She could tell I was frustrated and related they would be handling the smog check today once they hear back from the manufacturer. I told them I will remove the tuner then just to get it done and they said that would be ok.
I removed the tuner and had to do a drive cycle because an engine code came on during initial start up. Once I cleared the code and did the drive cycle, it passed no problem and they covered the price of the smog check minus the dmv fee.
So while a little frustrated it took me all day to smog the truck, they at least compensated me for the trouble, even though it was no real fault of theirs. I will happily be returning with my other vehicles soon. Thanks Smog Tech.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now, and I’ve been happy every time. I’ve never had to wait very long and their service has always been professional. One thing to note in particular is their love for this country and their willingness to take care of veterans.
If you are a veteran, your smog check is free. In other words, this place is willing to take a financial hit in order to serve those who would give their lives for this country. By coming here, you’re not only getting a smog check for a decent price; you’re also supporting those who have served. It’s a win-​win situation.
I highly recommend this place and plan on continuing to come here.

Need a smog check and found this place on Unilocal.Loved the price if you checked in there. Went in on a Friday afternoon and was in and out under and hour with no appointment. Nice that Starbucks is there to hang out at while waiting although there is a nice waiting room.

I went to these guys because I loved the support they showed for our troops and our nation! This was my second visit, first time went great and I decided this was going to be ‘my smog station’ … my dodge charger failed the smog due to an engine error, I was told by Phillip to bring it back after the repair but to «drive it around for a while before coming in» He spoke very fast and very hard to understand! I fixed the engine error, drove it around for a while and brought in … only to be told I was suppose to drive it around for 15 – 20 minutes at 60MPH with my cruise control on and not to apply the breaks if possible! (and how do you do that for 20 minutes?!) … I did it, took me an hour and a ¼ tank of gas. I love the patriotism, our flag posted every where (not some other country’s flag!) but please learn to communicate and don’t charge me the $ 9 for the second time around! my car did pass but took two hours out my day.
No surprise, there was a Lady there who was going through the ‘same’ situation.

Cool shop, cool people, cool price with a free retest. The service was excellent and the honor they give to our Vets makes them a very special shop. Their military memorabilia is interesting to look at. Felt like I was in a museum while I waited for my car to be done.

Wow! I’m so impressed with Smog Tech. I called to get a price and spoke with Philip. He was so friendly and happened to have a special right now. 15 min to closing and he still invited me to come right down so I did. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I just happened to randomly pick this shop out of the options given to me by Google. I’m very pleased I chose it! Very quick service. Great price. And I respect the appreciation given to those who serve this nation. It is right by a Starbucks and a McDonald’s, so my sons and myself ate a small bite and used the WiFi. Before I knew it, the tech had completed the smog test.

So happy with the service I received! I highly recommend this station to get your car tested at. You will not be disappointed! I will never use another smog tech place again! I live in Stockton & I don’t care either. I will make the drive to Manteca to use their services. I never wait long, they are accommodating by picking you up or picking our car up, plus they even drop you off at home if it’s a long wait. Please make sure to use their services. The prices are unbeatable.

A great big thank you to this business owner for dedicating all his lobby walls to display pictures and momentos to the soldiers that sacrificed their lives for own freedom.
Why haven’t I heard about this place, where is the publicity? A day doesn’t pass that we don’t see or read how someone is disrespecting our country, our military our flag, where is the publicity or media to show how much people really do respect our country.

I never have to wait long even if their busy it’s usually about 45 minutes and I’ll just take my kids to McDonald’s right by the shop by the time they eat and play with their happy meal toys my car is always done
