Manteca Park Golf Course

Manteca is always very busy because golfers from a 30 mile radius come to play. Staff is friendly and always professional. I have taken lessons from Dennis Wells and he got me to love the game again. Course is well kept year round. Keep up the good work.
I wish the city would raise rates to keep the tang top wears away. I am glad they change extra for out of town golfers as they are the main reason for slow play!

Pros:
–Marshall presence!!! I love it! Marshaling is a crappy job. No one wants to drive around with the main purpose of telling people to hurry up. But there’s been so many courses lately who don’t care to send them out for whatever reason. And the end result is slow play… People playing 3 balls… spending more than 5 min looking for a lost ball… But not only do they have marshalls rounding, they’re also not dicks!!! Many marshalls out there have a superiority complex and treat their job like its special forces!!! These guys make rounds, keep people playing, but they also engage in conversation and ask you how you’re doing. They’re customer service reps, and that’s really the point of marshalls. They didn’t intimidate. They genuinely cared about whether or not you were enjoying your day.
–killer clubhouse. It’s beautiful, the pro shop is STACKED, and the bar has hot chicks.
–the course (and greens in particular) are in very good shape for this time of the year
Cons:
–A tiny bit on the pricier side for a muni course. And truth be told it IS a muni course. There is little elevation change or memorable holes. But they have somewhat of a geographical monopoly, and I’ve gone twice so far and it’s always been busy. So they’re doing *something* right if people keep coming back.
–the driving range… dear GOD. It is separated by wooden planks serving as excuses for stalls. But many are crooked and they stick so far out that you can’t aim for all of the flags on the range. The mats are dilapidated. Literally. I could walk into a crackhouse and hit off their needle and vomit infested carpet more efficiently than these mats. If you think the golfers playing your course are that bad, then lower your rates to reflect such!
Tldr version: worth the twilight rate or groupon deals. Not worth the prime rate. For the same money you can get a way better day of golf by driving an hour. If you need to play locally, this is a good run.

Course is a 4 star the wedding don’t do it terrible bar tenders ass holes and the chicken was not cooked all the way, spent most the night on the toilet! And to mention bar tenders make the call on alcohol even tho u pay for it they will cut everyone at the wedding off! Just a heads up not the spot to celebrate the day that u want the guy that does it all and owns the place thinks he has the crowd down doesn’t, I wanted to feel a little more emotional and he wasn’t give that chance with and the fake humor.

The course is always in great shape. Long narrow fairways, with greens that aren’t too difficult. If you can’t play straight then you’ll have a difficult time here.
Pro shop staff is decent. This place is ALWAYS packed. Lots of retired people and pace of play is very slow.

They close the driving range @ 4:45, that’s too early, no time to hit balls during the week!

Manteca Golf Course is a good value. The staff is friendly and the rates are excellent. For such good rates, the course is in good condition. Many of the fairways are flat, narrow and run side by side with trees on each side. Several lakes and a canal on one hole add diversity. The pace of play can be slow at peak hours. The biggest complaint I have about this course are the greens which can be very slow, and if you play in the afternoon can be pretty beat up causing a lot of wayward putts.

Let me say this, the course is in really good shape. The play is so so slow, lots of elders, there were 5 somes playing. It’s a great deal for 25 bucks but if you like sitting around waiting on every hole then this is your place. Tracy country club has a faster pace of play

I really had no complaints, other than my game :-)
As you pull up in your vehicle, you find ample tiered parking. You are also impressed w/​the southern style plantation club house that sits upon the hill. It seems for this small town of Manteca, the golf course is a «destination». I saw family members of all ages frequenting not only the course, but also the range, and taking lessons. After finishing 18 holes I noticed a wedding party mulling around the bar area. I really got the feeling that the locales appreciate the venue and use it to it’s fullest extent.
The course is deceiving in that standing on the first tee you have an omnipotent feeling of Attila the Hun ready to conquer this track, however you soon learn that the narrowness of many tree-​lined fairways is your biggest challenge. Additionally, there are sufficient water hazards lurking in the wings to devour your ball at any given time. The fairways are cut well, but stray off them and you soon find yourself in tall grass. While the course is a public course, I would have to say it is in much better shape then most public tracks in the inner bay area.
My NCGA club did well in signing us up for a day at Manteca, but coming from the East Bay and a 1 hour/​half a tank of gas, I don’t think I’ll be wandering out to Manteca too often. If I had reason to be out that way I would most certainly return. I think the people of Manteca should be/​are proud of their course.

Took the 1.5 hr drive last Saturday to play here because of a GolfNow DealCaddy offer. It was worth the drive. Course was in good condition for winter & better than your average muni. It has some fun & challenging holes. Proshop, clubhouse were nice & the staff too. With a 10:30am start, was done in just under 5hrs — not bad! The only bummer was the men’s club finished ahead of us & had taken over the snack area. I like to finish with a cocktail, but no hard stuff there. Even passed on a beer with it fully occupied. I guess you can’t have everything. Looking forward to playing the course again.

I live in Manteca and love the course. I dont travel out of town to golf very often because of how well kept & challenging the course is. The price is very fair too, especially if you’re a resident.

Nice course — and a great course for a muni. Well manicured with lots of water, I have played there twice in last year (including last weekend) and really like this course. The twilight special is a steal, but bear in mind prices that low attract less-​than-​serious golfers and some people who like to play 3 – 5 balls on each shot. The greens were true and smooth on my first outing but last weekend (July 13) they were much slower and little bumpy. Still a wonderful course. I have played virtually all public courses in the Manteca-​to-​Visalia corridor, and this one is one of the best.

Love the lay out and the course is in great shape all year round. The price is right and the staff is very friendly. Love it…

Nice course, not crowded. The green fees is $ 21 to walk n $ 35 to ride at 9 am. The staff is friendly…

Let me be clear; I NEVER have a reason to be in Manteca. The City of Lard. But, with the folks continuing to reside in the Central Valley I do drive past Manteca from time to time. Out comes the «Interactive Map of Northern California Golf Courses» only to find Manteca in «Northern» California and this little course listed. Off of the freeway 2 miles and there it is. Just a little 18 hole muni but in VERY nice shape with as inventive a layout as they could do with a board flat track of land. $ 24 bucks to ride. That’s a heck of a deal!
Don’t expect Pebble and you won’t be disappointed. If you need a Central Valley 18 on the cheap, here you go.

A decent course for what you pay to play. Haven’t been in a while but when I was there I recall some funny stories about people cutting down trees on the course, when you play you see why LOL! Definitely lots of trees to play around, course is pretty challenging and likely not a newbie course. The driving range last time I was there was on mats rather than natural grass, not my favorite by any means but not a deal breaker when in need of a fix for the range.
