History

Established in 1992.

In 1990, I left the Austin Police Department after a twelve year career. I received my Law Degree from the University of Texas and opened my own law office in 1992. I am dedicated to the zealous defense of my fellow citizens who are accused of DWI, DUI, or other alcohol related matters and Federal and State drug offenses. I have developed close relationships with a variety of DWI Associated Professionals that assist in the defense of those charged with a crime. Jamie Balagia was born and raised in Austin, Texas and received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice in 1978. Jamie Balagia was a police officer from 1978 until 1990 when he left the Austin Police Department to attend the University of Texas Law School. Jamie worked all facets of police work including working as an undercover VICE officer from 1986 through 1988. The time Jamie spent as a police officer has proven invaluable in the courtroom while defending his fellow citizens. Jamie has represented clients in some of the most publicized cases in Travis County over the past 18 years. Jamie is routinely hired by athletes from the University of Texas and by a large number of police officers in need of his help. Jamie branched out and opened an office in San Antonio four years ago and has been featured on local news programs and magazines in Bexar County as a proven winner in the courtroom. Jamie is married and has two children in college and is active in his church and community
