History

Established in 2012.

After spending two months in Nicaragua studying Spanish with over 30 tutors we continued via Skype in the U.S. Breakthrough pricing allowed us to stick with our studies as long as we wanted. We created the business to connect more students who need low price high quality tutoring to some of our favorite tutors.

Meet the Business Owner

Corky and Sandy P.

Business Owner

I’ve (Corky) worked in the music, electronics, and software industry. In 2001 I created a company to provide broadband service to people in rural areas East of Austin where cable and DSL don’t reach.

After selling the company, I wanted to use my business experience to alleviate poverty in Nicaragua (The second poorest country in the hemisphere). I prefer business to charity because it is sustainable and gives people dignity.

Sandy (my wife) grew up in Peru speaking three languages. She has a Masters in ESL so she has a deep understanding of what is required to learn and teach a language as well as the pitfalls and rewards of crossing cultural boundaries.
