Delara Landscaping & Lawn Maintainance

I went to Delara shopping for limestone blocks and the owner, Ricardo, spent a great deal of time working with me to insure I got enough of the right stuff. He has some amazing rock, and quite a bit of granite and marble slabs suitable for finished countertops or tables.
They are a bit out of the way, but the trip is worth it.
Ricardo knows how to design a beautiful landscape and his materials are very well-​priced.
I am headed back for more. ..

Delara completely redid my front yard from St. Augistine to native plants.
He even took up the plain concrete sidewalk and cut it into square that
he outlined in bricks and with the extra contrete pieces and more bricks
he made a matching side path to the driveway.
He is imaginative and hard working.
We love the front yard — there is a profusion of flowers all year long and
with all native plants and trees, it requires less water.
We never have to mow again.
Everything he planted has lived and thrived. The Knock Out roses
are spectacular all year long except after the freezes in Jan and Feb.
I am looking forward to having him redo the backyard also.

Went and walked around the selection of river rock DeLara has. I found a nice pile with a sign indicating it was Diablo. I ordered 12 yards of this Diablo and when it was delivered to my house and dumped in my yard I knew something was wrong. Not the rock I saw in their yard that was marked Diablo. The owner told me at the time I ordered he only had 8 yards and would have the remaining 4 yards the next day and would deliver it.
So…they delivered 8 yards. Got those 8 yards spread around the pool deck and there was no sign of the 4 yards. On Monday I called and DeLara said they delivered 12 yards. Now… at the end of the day on Friday they said they only had 8 yards. On Saturday the truck delivered at 7am. They told me I’d get the 4 yards around 10 – 11. Now all of a sudden I have 12 delivered when they said they didn’t have 12? Makes no sense.
Went back to the owner and he said I was delivered 12 yards… then said we were delivered 11 yards… then 10 yards… now back to 12 yards.
Back to the wrong rock. The rock I ordered was Diablo according to their sign in the middle of the pile of rocks. I took a picture of it to show the wife. When I went back to complain about the shortage I also let them know they delivered the wrong rock. They said «oh the sign in that pile was wrong so when you ordered Diablo you actually ordered a completely different rock.»
WTF!!! Now tI have the wrong rock and they won’t help me out with that either.
My neighbor told me to stay away from them because they shorted him on some sand and crushed granite. I thought he was just being his usual anal retentive self. Nope… DeLara screwed me on the type of rock and they screwed me by the amount of rock I ordered and got delivered.
These guys suck suck suck!!!

Bought some chocolate loam and dillo dirt mixed together. Delivery was done on time and staff was knowledgeable about what dirt was best for my type of grass. Delivery driver was careful to dump the dirt exactly where directed without driving over curbs or making unnecessary mess. Dirt was mixed very well compared to others I have bought from. Would not hesitate to recommend to others. Office staff is bilingual, hablan español. If you visit in person use the door on the far left if facing the front of the building and watch out for the friendly doggy who sleeps behind the door :) Inside there are 3 dozen or so little bins with samples of the dirt and aggregate that they sell so you can see what you’re buying ahead of time.
Only reason I did not give five stars is because I never could get a solid answer on when the grass I wanted would be available for purchase. For 3 weeks in a row I was told «It will be available next week». For all I know that is the fault of the grass grower who is likely close to the coast but it was still a bit annoying.
