Ballards Asphalt & Concrete

I am a property manager of a Self storage property that also has office warehouses and street side office space. We have had a stellar experience with Bob Ballard, so much so that my company will now only use him for any of our properties in Texas. Bob does meticulous, high quality work and nobody will out bid him (trust me, I tried to find somebody to beat his prices on more than one occasion with a 0% success rate). He has repaired our asphalt, done seal coating and striping, installed car stops, installed an ADA ramp and so much more.
Bob Ballard’s work is always completed in an timely matter, he has exceeded my expectations every time that I’ve hired him. I am confident that regardless of the job, you will be extremely pleased with the end result!

Having suffered through unscrupulous asphalt companies (who take tons of money, do shotty work and are never available to come back when you need them) and waited endlessly (stillllll waiting) for calls back from this who come recommended from friends and neighbors, I’ve finally found someone great.

I saw the bad review and had to respond. I am the manager of a small condo complex and am very used to having construction guys try to take advantage of my girlness. I got 4 bids to resurface the lot. I think Bob’s bid was lower than the others, but the things that really cinched the deal for me were: (1) I asked two contractors for names and in both instances his was the only one they gave me. (2) One of the asphalt companies I got bids from was insistent that the entire parking lot needed to be torn up and replaced. Another one wanted to just lay down blacktop. Bob and the other company wanted to repair the asphalt and then lay a coat of blacktop, but Bob wanted to wait to let the asphalt cure before laying the blacktop. The other company said that wasn’t necessary. And they are correct. It isn’t necessary, but it’s better. Your asphalt lasts longer. And I appreciated that Bob gave me information so I could make an informed decision.
The schedule did slip a day, but this is construction and that happens. He was available every time I called or texted. The work went smoothly and the lot looks great. No complaints. Read less

Had a great experience with Bob at Ballard’s asphalt and he delivered and met every expectation that was promised. We had to completely re-​do our front entrance of our hotel’s asphalt and it was completed in time and the work was professionally set up eliminating any traffic flow problems with our in-​house guests. I highly recommend his work and will be using Bob again at the end of the year to complete the hotel’s back parking lot.

The guy, Bob, returns phone calls after you call several times. He can’t stick to a schedule. He said he’d come by to bid a driveway and curb cut/​apron job. A business week goes by. He calls and asks what the other bids are. He also wants to know what the footage is. He won’t even come by and give a professional bid on a $ 6−10k job. He tells me he doesn’t want to bid it. I’m guessing because I wouldn’t tell him what other bids were. What a joke. This guy is even on the city of Austin’s approved contractor list. Avoid the headache and call someone else.
