Wetnose Doggy Gym

My small dog has been attending Wet Nose for over 3 years now, usually for extended stays of a week at a time, but occasionally for day care, and I have never been disappointed in her care and the service provided. I am grateful that my dog has such a caring, comfortable place to stay while I am away and I never worry about her when she is there. She is excited to go and has made a real bond with the staff (which is very regular and has had little turnover in the years I have been using the service).

I have visited wet nose doggy daycare about a month and a half ago for the first time with an absolute intent to make my 13 month old puppy their newest member, due to close proximity to our apartment. Overall we spent 20 to. 30 minutes inside as the subscription procerdure is very extensive and I wanted to get most of it done on the spot and oh hoe Im glad that I did!!! When first coming in I was welcomed by over a dozen adorable doggies, many where dashund (weenies) which was a wonderful plus since my pup is a Chiwheenie and she adores her «breed relatives». In addition I was welcomed by a very strong scent of urine and a lazy welcome.. Right across from me by the staircase where those suspected stink bombs, 4 urine soaked wee wee pads and 4 weenies hanging out around them, ofcourse I assumed everyone just went to potty and the two ‘Doggy Supervisors’ sitting few steps away from them at the bar stools talking about nails are going to clean it right up!
Oh my wishful thinking, 10 minutes in I decided to poibt tgeir attention to the issue, I said «Wow doggies sure pee a lot here! How often do you guys clean up after them?» He answered that the supervisors clean up and basically brushed my question off. 15 minutes in 3 more dogs came up and peed on top of disgusting soaked pads, one sniffed it by whiping her nose on it, another gave it a good lick. I ask again «are the two girls sitting right there supposed to be taking xare and looking after the dogs?» He said Yes. i said they arent doing a very good job he nodded in agreement and thats it. 20 minutes in still no action. By now there is urine spilled all around the fpoor around the wee wee pads and a beautiful brown Doucshund is takibg a nap right in the urine. I could not believe my eyes! I quickly screamed out «Oh no no no no tgat dog is laying in everyone’s urine now!» He waved his hand as in «its Ok» motion. I kept asking them to change the pads or let me come in and change it but it was pointless. I was speachless abd in shock. I didnt even say antthing on the issue ehrn leaving. I even gave them my filled out papers, which ofcourse I immidiatly called and asked to discard as soon as I was home and out of state of shock.
I never said anything because I just assumed owners have seen the same thing as I did many times and are just fine with such practices. But after two weeks ago by dog got deadly sick from old and probably infected poisonous urine at union square park (please note this is an example, my dog did not get sick from Wet Nose dog care, she has never stayed there after my initial viewing of the premises) I had to run to the ER while she was throwing up and having sisures, she got better but I hope to never again see her laying in bed unable to move or even as much as open her eyes. Now I felt its my duty to share this information with other dog owners.

Your dog can get free dental scaling without your request or permission, or anaesthetic,
if you take him (her) to Wetnose doggy gym.
The employee named Miguel, who has no training or license to be a vet, who also happens to be an illegal alien, will do this on your dogs while they’re bleeding and crying from pain. Hugo, Cavalier KingCharles, can be your witness — but he can only speak in dog language.
Not only that, Miguel will squeeze your dogs cysts and pimples without your request or permission till he leaves hollow holes in your dogs body covered with blood.
He will also brush you dogs without your request or permission, especially when he is
anxious or in a bad mood, not to mention kicking your dogs from time to time.
He will also hand-​pluck your dog’s hair without your request or permission, even
when it is completely unnecessary for your dog. Chestnut, Cavalier King Charles, can be your witness — but she only speaks woof-​woof.
If you dogs resist his actions, he will jab them on the face with his fist or grab them by the neck with his fingers till your dogs urinate all over themselves from fear, but leave no scar to be traced. Cody, Jack Russell Terrier and many other dogs at Wetnose Doggy Gym, can be your witness for this — but again, they only speak dog language.
If your dogs don’t come to Miguel when he asks them to, or don’t stop barking when he asks them, he will grab their bodies so hard that they will squeal from pain.
Mind that these actions are happening under the manager Julie’s eyes,
who not to mention was informed about them numerous times by her own groomer.
Miguel and his manager, Julie, used to whistle just to make the old dog named Spanky, the Schnauzer, move upon their command — leaving her shivering from fear for many hours.
When anyone asks why she’s shaking, they’ll say they don’t know or that she is just old.
There’s a webcam at Wetnose, but you won’t see any of these actions because everything will be done where the camera doesn’t reach.
If your dogs stay in the corner or under the bench all day from the fear of being yelled at or being physically attacked by Miguel,
they will say your dogs have «no personality», as they did to Poochie the Havanese, Isabell the Norwich Terrier and Oliver & Phoebe, the Cotton de Tuliers. But again — these dogs only speak dog language.
Miguel and Julie will also change your dogs’ names while they’re staying at Wetnose,
confusing your dogs by yelling at them if they don’t respond to the new names, like they did to Oliver, Cavalier King Charles. His new name was Chato, which didn’t make any connection to his original name.
Even after you read this, if you decide to take your dogs to Wetnose Doggy Gym for some reason, please be vigilant about your dogs’ safety and at least don’t tell anything personal about yourself to Julie, the manager. Because she’ll gossip about it with the employees as you walk out that place –
And if you find Miguel working as a groomer, please run for your dogs’ lives.
Julie once told me some dogs at Wetnose used to pee on the grooming table when groomed by Miguel. Now I know why.
How do I know all this?
I worked there as a groomer for over one year, and resigned recently after failing to get
Julie, the manager to do anything to stop Miguel from abusing dogs. Her last response on our fourth meeting on this issue was «he’s like my son.»
I already contacted the ASPCA about this, but they cannot do anything unless this becomes a criminal case with physical evidence. You know what that means.
I hope this help dog owners out there who are simply trying to keep their pets in a safe place.
