I was highly impressed for such an old school, generic establishment. Food was high quality and well cooked. Burgers were delicious, fries/onion rings were enjoyable, and the prices VERY reasonable! This is an establishment I’ll be coming back to for some more old-fashioned, comfort food.

Quintessential greasy spoon food and environment to include gray hairs setting up a slalom with their walkers. Grumpy waitress/cashier«Flo» behind the counter made sure I knew her day was not starting off well and had peaked with«ok» and I was part of the problem ordering food. Food service was slow. Food was cold from sitting on the counter waiting. «Flo» was to busy explaining to others how the recent traffic accident she was involved in wasn’t her fault, how could it be, she was asleep at the time he vehicle struck another. Food was delivered. Mediocre is what they strive for. Today they didn’t meet thier goal. Food was cold, served on Styrofoam, from cans, with a small bit of melted plastic hidden in my omlete. I’m not bitter, or doesn’t bother me, is about what I expected. Most likely won’t be back, and I’m pretty sire Vista Drive in won’t care either.

Do yourself a favor and get a good old school burger at Vista Burger! Delicious! The outside is seared just right, the inside of the burger is perfect. It’s very old school feeling and you shouldn’t miss it!

Ate here for lunch. Needed a burger fix. Burgers were a tad greasy but had a good taste and fixings. Fries were hot and crunchy. Service was courteous and quick. We went in a bit early and missed the lunch rush. Bonus. They have a shake of the day for $ 2.75! Will be back to try one …

Classic American burger joint. My family comes here whenever we visit Manhattan. Good portions(not too big) and great burgers. Fun fact: the owners’ family invented the Icee machine.

Overall my experience at this establishment was good. I went to the drive through, and ordered the ¼ lb Vista burger combo, large. Service was quick, back on the road in about 5 minutes. The fries were quite good for drive through fair, they tasted homemade and while they could have used some salt, they were nicely done and crunchy on the outside and hot on the inside. Just like good drive through fries should be, and they did not seem to get soggy as time went on. Unlike Mcdonalds fries which are only good piping hot, these fries were every bit as good from first to last despite cooling. The burger also was good, and again tasted much more«homemade» than other fast food restaurants in the area. The bun was really nice, it was pretty greasy but that’s alright with me. The meat was tasty, greasy and not dried out, tasted real good with the melted cheese. I would recommend Vista over any of the normal«burger joints» in town, and they do the classic burger n’ fries justice. The burger was much better than the likes of McDonalds or Sonic, and even a little better than DQ, with fries better than all of them. If you are in the mood for a quick burger and fries and want something that tastes more«real», this is the place to go in Manhattan. The styling of the building is also very cool looking.

Pretty tasty burger. Vista and Big D’s are really the only good burgers in town. A few others are«okay» but these 2 are head and shoulders above everyone else.

I’m unabashedly a fan of Vista Drive In. I grew up on Vista burgers, loved getting a Cyclone as a treat and think that every hamburger basket special ought to include a tossed salad. I’m also ok with hamburgers that are misshapen because that means that they were handmade, not machine-formed, from good, fresh Kansas beef. And smaller portions at a higher price simply equals better quality food at a reasonable human portion. So it was a blast to take my husband there for lunch and share a bit of my history with him — and Vista didn’t disappoint. Though I’ve lived in Texas long enough that I had to order my Vista burger without ketchup because, yuck. But leaving it off was no big deal and mustard made the burger even tastier!

Classic burger joint from the 60’s, keeping the same theme and décor. If you like classic burgers this place is great. Service was very friendly and the food was out almost as soon as we finished ordering. You can tell the food has better quality ingredients than fast food joints. If you’re looking for«Red Robin» or «Islands» this won’t cut it, but it will beat other drive– throughs. Spicy chicken sandwich was great, so was the burger and mozzarella sticks. Come on by with an open mind!

Have been coming here ever since we moved here to Manhattan when I was 8. Now when I come back into town, I always stop by and get a chocolate chip milkshake. It’s like chocolate flicks in vanilla ice cream. I always enjoy my hamburger, fries, or whatever else and would recommend to anyone!

This place looks like a wonderful, all-american burger joint when driving by. National Hamburger Day was a few days back and what better way to celebrate than eating a burger? We should have gone to a place with better reviews. We went through the drive thru. The lady who took our order was snippy. The guy who was at the window was not at all friendly. I got an orange soda which they give to you in the bottle. It’s best by date was two weeks prior to when it was given to me. We got the Vista Burger which is ¼ lb. burger. For $ 6 you get a burger(seriously the grossest presentation ever. Misshapen, flavorless, burnt), fries(you salt yourself), and an(old) soda. NOT worth it.

Nothing special, Im assuming majority of their buisness is returning locals(that have lived here for ages) I say this becuase there are much tastier and much better value else where. I ordered the Fish sandwhich, plain jane blaah blaah, it was hot and fresh but not worth the price, I think they gave me like 20 fries, no lie… and my whole meal was at least 8 bucks! And for 8 bucks I better be FULL! Another thing I thought I’d mention, not insinuating anything, but my husband and I are not from around here, and lets just say I did NOT feel welcome, all eyes were on us from the momment we stepped foot in there. Its safe to say we wont be returning.

It’s kind of expensive for just a burger and fries that aren’t all that great. But I guess everyone comes here since this place has been here forever and for the real drive in burger place from the«olden days». Not my fave place but I guess if you live here it’s a must at least once.

Ate here most of the time because it was not far from my house. I would not drive out of my way for it. The food is mediocre, the fries are always undercooked, and the pies have been sitting in moisture way too long. I also don’t get the purpose of their confusing 2 car drive thru.

These burgers blow Freddy’s and McDonalds out of the park! Wonderful burgers and other foods. The buns aren’t bad either…

Vista has been a Manhattan staple for 48 or so years. I’ve been eating here for as long as I’ve been alive. For the most part you can’t go wrong if you order a Vista burger with bacon and cheese. I would say these are indeed the best burgers in town. The portions in my opinion are on the small side considering the price you pay. The fries aren’t great, but onion rings are usually very good. They also have very good chocolate shakes. The only thing I do not like is their breakfast. I have stopped in several times for breakfast and just can’t get used to any of it. They should stick to lunch and dinner. On the customer service side I’ve noticed since Brad(owner) has officially stepped away from day to day managing things have gone downhill slightly. I’ve still seen Brad there during lunches and other times, but he’s not there as much. The«big guy» that somebody else referenced in their review was/is horrible at customer service and he frustrates me everytime I go there. I haven’t seen him around lately so hopefully they got rid of him. He does seem like the type that would reach through the window and take a swing at you simply for asking for more ketchup. All in all you have to try this place for yourself. It’s a classic burger joint and they must be doing something right because I’m still going there after all these years.

Really not impressed. I had the spicy chicken combo(came with fries and a fountain drink). The sandwich was adequate, but the fries were stale, bland, and lukewarm at best. Their sign boasts the best burgers in town, but I beg to differ. If I come back, which I doubt will happen, it’ll probably only be to try the onion rings or desserts.

I was hoping for/expecting retro cool. What we experienced, however, was simply sad. The décor, the sign outside, everything points to the 50s, so no disappointment there. But the food… Well, they seem to have given up. The choices are varied: hamburgers, hot dogs, cheese steaks, onion rings, etc. However, none of it tastes acceptable. There’s either too much salt or none. There is very little flavor in anything and everything we ordered. I was very much hoping to like this place. I will stare at it wistfully from the road, but I won’t return.

I’ve been here about 8 or 9 times and they’re usually good. Today they blew it. Big guy at counter taking my order had to consult with no less than two higher-ups to get permission to sell me a hot dog. Apparently they only have hot dog combo on kids menu. I ended up just ordering everything separately. Am I really the first adult who has ordered a hot dog at this greasy fast food joint? Before I had time to tell him what I wanted on it(he never asked) he punched in my order. I asked him what came on it, he said,“nothing” in a tone like I was a moron. I said I wanted pickles and onions and I swear he was about to punch me. With plenty of sighing and grunting he re-entered my order. The end result of all this nonsense wasn’t much of a surprise. The worst hot dog I ever had. Check out the included photo. Someone is getting a bun and a half while I got half a bun. One pet peeve of mine is joints that can’t be bothered to have pickles cut properly for dogs and burgers. I have enough room in my fridge at home for a jar of both spears and round cut(or I just slice them myself). Why can’t a restaurant that sells burgers and dogs have pickles that fit the item? At least this isn’t as bad as some places I’ve seen that put spears on a burger. But the worst part of the whole thing was the old grease they used to fry the onion rings. Their rings are usually my favorite item here, but these tasted and smelled like old fish. The oil in the fryer must have been very, very old. I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I won’t be back to see if they reverse this downward trend.
