Tim was such a pleasure to work with. He made finding an apartment, a typically stressful experience, beyond easy. His knowledge of NYC and the apartment made me so much more at ease when choosing our apartment. He was honest and helpful and I will absolutely contact him in the future if I move.

I am 200% thrilled with my apartment finding experience with Village Living. Tim was great — very accomoidating, knowledgable, and helpful. Within 2 days of seeing the posting for the apartment, I had signed the lease and a week later I had the keys. Highly highly recommended!

I had a great experience renting my adorable little apartment through Village Living Realty. Tim was incredibly helpful, responsive, answered emails on time and did a great job. We were moving in from out of state, so our time in the city was very limited… they did a wonderful job getting our meetings /​signings completed — even with a random snow storm that caused the whole city to come in late and made us over an hour late for our appointment!

Living in my east village apartment that I obtained through Village Living Rentals was one of the best living situations I had in NYC. There was no waiting or uncertainty about my situation. The reason I am giving VLR a good rating though is because they really helped me with my move out date. I had to move out because of medical expenses and Tim let me stay in the apartment until i was able to find the right place. This took a HUGE load of stress off my shoulders, you have no idea. It didn’t even occur to me that this was an option, and Tim was the one who suggested it.
In fact, if I ever had any issues with the problem, Tim was always able to help me or move the process along. It was he who helped me get my bathroom remodeled as well. I’m very thankful to have worked with him and Village Living Rentals.

I had a great experience with Tim & co. Everything was incredibly professional and honest and done in a timely manner. Deposit down, application accepted, lease signed– can’t wait to move in to my new East Village studio! Would highly recommend their services to prospective tenants.

I was a little apprehensive about renting through this agency after reading the negative reviews, but I honestly had a very good experience! Yes, these are brokers and you will pay a broker’s fee for an apartment, but I found it reasonable and on par with other broker’s fees that I saw while apartment hunting. Tim was responsive via email and phone (same day if not same hour replies), and even let me view my apartment a second time to take additional photos/​measurements of the rooms before moving. After applying for the apartment and meeting the income/​credit requirements, I was approved within 2 days and signed the lease within 5. I’d also like to note that the rental rate that they put on the lease ended up being 25 dollars *less* than what was originally advertised. For the quality of the apartment and service I feel like I got a great deal for the area (greenwich village), especially as someone who’s been through several city moves/​landlords/​agents.

Great Experience! I was recently looking for an apartment in the West Village and contacted Village Living. They were professional, thorough, HONEST and extremely pleasant to work with. After having a less than stellar experiences with several other brokers, they took the time to listen to my requirements and helped me find an AMAZING apartment that fit my budget.
I would not have been able to do it without them! They guided me through the whole process from organizing the necessary paperwork to signing the lease.
I would recommend Village Living to anyone looking for a new apartment!!!

The most despicable «business» I’ve ever had the unfortunate experience of working with. After rushing to secure the deposit and send in my paperwork (which I had confirmation Tim had received, with no indication of any issues), I was told (in less than 48 hours) that they did not have sufficient paperwork and no longer qualified for the apartment. After speaking with Tim, I was YELLED at on the phone and blamed for everything. I will NEVER seek their business again and do not recommend their services to anyone. BEWARE.

Disingenuous, deceitful, underhanded. After I showed interest, secured my deposit to hold the rent, and submitted my application they countered and raised both the rent rate and their broker fee. Oh, they won’t be upfront with everything and they love surprising you with extra fees and charges that you won’t find out about until after you sign the lease. Anything to squeeze as much money out of you. Beware.

Worst business experience I have had since living in New York City. These guys give brokers a bad name. I looked at an apartment under the pretense of a set price… after putting down a deposit to hold the apartment, I was told 4 days later that they were raising the price by 10%. Horrible customer service. Never answer their phones. BLEH!
