The sign says East Side Auto and also Uptown Auto Enterprises and the exact address is 223 East 125^th Street. That’s just for clarification.
Anyway, as for service, I have to say it has always been fantastic. As a woman in NYC, it is often hard to find a reliable and trustworthy place. I happened upon this shop by accident, having used mechanics in several parts of Harlem and the Bronx. I was looking to get my NYS Inspection, and the shop near my house was full so they referred me here. Not only did I have an excellent and fast inspection, but I came back the following year. This time, I needed to get basic maintenance done. They were transparent about costs and fair. The best part is they only charge you for work they do and will not nitpick over small things. For example, today, they tightened up my breaks as part of regular maintenance and only charged me for oil, since they didn’t have to replace or make major repairs. Now, that’s what I call honest service.
I also like that a woman often works the front desk, who is knowledgable and honest. For reference, I have a Toyota Prius, which they also service. Finally, they allow people to bring their own parts, if they choose to do so, and will only charge for labor. I never have to wait long for service; they are very efficient.
Note: They are open Sunday through Friday and are off on Saturdays. This can be very convenient for those needing or wanting Sunday service but come early because I think they close at 4pm.
