History

Established in 1995.

Recorded lots of demos for musical performers from opera, musical theater, pop and rock and roll. In 2010, underwent massive renovation to create the beautiful vocal booth now at the heart of the studio. Also added motorized blue and green screens for video production.

Business Owner

The Smooth Spot was founded by Michael Kevin Walsh in 1995.

Mr. Walsh performed for many years at Sam’s Restaurant, the oldest theater bar in NYC as well as upscale venues throughout the world with his jazz trio. He has also serves as musical director for theater productions at Castillo theater and currently sings with the New York Vagabonds, a four-​part harmony men’s group which performs on high-​end cruise ships around the world. From all of his experience, he has had the opportunity to work with singers in a large variety of musical styles. Since 1995. he has worked in the recording studio creating piano and vocal demos, full orchestrations, rock and roll, new age, jazz, pop, R&B, spoken word, opera and other styles for clients in the New York area.
