History
Established in 2004.
While studying abroad in Australia, our founder Josh «Shuki» Cohen had the lightning-bolt of inspiration for the Junkluggers. A friend mentioned to Josh that he made $ 100 hauling away a refrigerator from a neighbor and Josh thought, «Hey, I can do that!»
Upon his return to the U.S., 21-year old Josh hit the streets handing out homemade flyers in his hometown of Fairfield, CT. Soon the phones began to ring, and Josh quickly realized there was a demand for a reliable, professional and eco-friendly removal service.
Armed only with his mom’s Dodge Durango SUV and a love for the environment, Josh revolutionized the hauling and removal industry by focusing on environmentally-friendly and community-oriented junk removal practices.
Since 2004, we have grown to a multi-truck, multi-state operation, employing a staff of nearly forty. Through all this growth, however, we have remained dedicated to recycling and Josh’s original mission of reliability and eco-friendliness.
