This old Jew is one of my favorite places to sit and read if I’m killing time (for whatever reason) in the Garment District. Just a few blocks south of Times Square, its largely free of the insanity. But tons of people sit at the base of this statue to read, eat, and for some reason smoke cigars. Seriously. People LOVE smoking cigars in the shadow of this old Jewish tailor.
Don’t ask me.
It’s a nifty piece of art, and I love that people are always hovering and fighting for space to sit. It’s weird. It’s quirky. And it kicks up Midtown just a bit.
