Suits and Skirts Cleaners

Moved to NYC a year ago and have been desperately searching for a reliable dry cleaning service… had some issues with prior cleaners but have been using this place for a few months now and have had 0 complaints. Quick turnaround, good customer service, reasonably priced. and most importantly they haven’t lost or ruined anything. def recommending my friends in the area!

They have been more than accommodating for pick up and delivery. Rei is always happy to work around your work schedule to get your stuff back to you in a timely manner. Great service.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I live right next door, and their late hours and «open on Sunday» schedule fit well with my work schedule. After using them weekly for suits and work shirts for several months with no issues, I had one drop off go missing. The guy at the counter was trying without success to locate the order on the computer system when I simply asked «do you have any unclaimed ‘orphans’ that may have some how become disassociated from the order number in the system?» and the guy snapped back at me with loads of attitude «I’m doing my best to find it». My response was to pick up the card for the manager and declare «you know what, I will just sort this out with the manager.» The guy demanded I not take the card, and when I refused he flipped out, trying to stop me from leaving the store, snatching at the card in my hand, following my outside into the street and finally grabbing and holding me while threatening me «I will fight you right now!» Luckily my doorman was outside, as the guy only let go of my arm and went back in the store when I yelled down to my doorman to call the police. The worst part is my MULTIPLE messages to the manager to discuss the incident went totally unreturned, and the guy was still working at this place months later.
I’ll take my business someplace where the employees are asked NOT to start physical altercations with their regular customers, and would suggest you do too.

Best dry cleaners in the city. I had a job interview and needed my suit clean asap. i drop it off tuesday evening needed it for thursday 7am the gentelmen that works the evening was very helpful he emailed me and also call to inform me that my suit was ready for pick up. the best of all they are open till 10 pm and open 7 days a week. i will be using the again.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! Here is why:
1) I asked that my dry cleaning be delivered between 10am and 6pm the following day.
At 10PM that evening (12 hours before it should have arrived), I get a phone call on my cell from a delivery guy who says he’s waiting in the lobby. It was my OFFICE BUILDING which was closed. I informed him that I wasn’t even close to that location and that it was way past the delivery window. He continued to express that he was waiting in the lobby and that he couldn’t bring my clothes back to the dry cleaners because they were closed for the night (as if that’s MY problem?); then ultimately, he just hung up. When I arrived at work the next morning, my clothes were on the floor of my office building lobby.
2) When I called to inform the business what had happened, I got an apology and was told that if I continued to use their services, they would issue me a credit. So, I decided to use them again. And guess what? When I got the bill, there was NO CREDIT issued.
3) When I called to inquire about the credit, the employee on the phone said it was too late to change the bill and that he could give me a discount «for next time.» HA! Like there’s going to be a next time.
What a waste of business space in NY. This place stinks.

I thought the service here couldn’t get any worse, but I was wrong. After my last issue I decided to switch dry cleaners. This morning I wanted to wear a white blouse that was still in the dry cleaning bag with another white blouse. When I pulled it out, I saw a dark red blood stain on the back of the blouse, and a continuation of the stain on the second blouse. It seems someone was bleeding when they pressed the clothes and got blood on them. I went back to the cleaner today and to be frank, I was pretty angry. The manger seemed to think it was amusing and was practical laughing at me which I didn’t appreciate. What a lack of professionalism and customer service. I hope they go out of business.

Horrible, horrible, horrible.
Suits and Skirts picked up my laundry on the Wednesday morning before Memorial Day Weekend. Despite assuring me they would deliver it before my trip on Friday night, I didn’t end up getting my laundry back until the following TUESDAY. This is not okay.
Their payment system is very difficult to use. I had to call them 3 different times for them to process my credit card info. I’ve never seen a business that actively makes it difficult to give them money.
Overall, the worst part was the lack of communication. I called their location during the days my laundry wasn’t delivered. I got dead dial tones and messages that the number was out of service. Someone finally got in touch with me 4 days later.
Never again.

Decent dry cleaners that I use whenever I’m in NYC for work. Overall service is not spectacular but they’re reasonably quick and I’ve never had any clothes damaged or lost. That’s usually my #1 factor, so I would give them a 3 – 3.5 stars.

Beware.
I have used their dry cleaning services for the past few months without problem. That is, until over 6 weeks ago when they lost all of my dress shirts. After numerous attempts to communicate with them and empty promises on their behalf, they have now stopped responding to my calls and emails. They’re not taking any responsibility for losing my clothes and I am forced to replace half my wardrobe.

Every time I come here there is always an issue. My roommate and I have dropped of simple laundry, cashmere items, and pieces to be hemmed. I’m not sure what the issue is, but it seems as if they do not care about their customers. It’s actually shocking. I even recommended this place to a friend and was so embarrassed when they told me that their white shirt had been stained and a button had been torn off.
Figure out how to manage the quality of your service.

Email drop-​off receipts could be a great idea. Unfortunately, you get your receipt 4+ hours after you drop it off, if at all. I asked for a paper receipt or an email at the time of drop-​off, but apparently that’s not feasible.
I will not be returning since I don’t want to risk losing my clothes. The receipt should mark our agreement of the items dropped off.

After going to Suits and Skirts for almost a year, if is time to officially break up.
I typically get the wash and fold, but have had some items dry cleaned. (I have never had an issue with my dry cleaned items and have always been satisfied)
First off, I have noticed that when I do the wash and fold, on occasion, some items just are not washed. I could understand if it was a sock, here or there, or once or twice but recently its more than a sock and more than twice! I am paying for the clothes to be cleaned…
Second, some of my clothing has gone missing. GONE MISSING. Not a sock or two, but real articles of clothing. Who has my clothes?! I understand that inventory is not taken for wash and fold on their end, but since its my clothing, I know what is missing and have inquired about it. When I ask about missing items, I just get the «we don’t take inventory» response — not really acceptable. What I do expect is a thorough search for my clothing!
Third, just recently, I have noticed a «rush» charge on my bill, when I have not been requesting rush services. The charge is for your laundry to be rushed, or to be done the same day. Its only $ 2, but I have never asked for my laundry to be done the same day, yet have received the charge. With my other issues, it makes me wonder how many people don’t ask, but are still charged the extra two dollars without their consent.

Just because I can’t put 0 stars, that’s a very, very reluctant and generous 1. They were missing several bundles to my order, the receptionist — «I did not WASH your clothes, I did not TAKE your clothes, I’m just the one putting it into the computer» — was one of the rudest people on the planet. When I firmly asked where the other half of my dry cleaning was, together with a couple of missing delicates, she blew up and said «if someone sasses you, you sass them back!» and hung up after saying she was just going to email her manager. WOW.
I have been a loyal customer for months, but the buck stops here. They feel they’re doing YOU a favor by taking your clothes. DEFINITELY taking my business elsewhere. They are rude, patronizing, overpriced ($ 180++ for some bundles of wash and fold, wash and press and minimal dry cleaning), non-​punctual, and need to SERIOUSLY rethink their customer service. CLIENT BEWARE.

This place is way overrated. They have done my dry cleaning 10+ times in large part because I can’t find a better delivery option in my immediate delivery area, but their customer service is pretty bad and I’m really trying to find a new place. On numerous occasions I have specifically needed my clothes delivered by a specific time (for a meeting or specific occasion), and they have missed the deadline despite promising to make it. Even in those cases, they do not give a discount or anything — their rude customer service makes it very clear that you work on their timeline, and they do not work on yours.
Thusfar I have not had any issues with the QUALITY of my clothes. However, the missed deadlines, the inflexibility, and the rudeness of the manager make this place almost not worth it. Feel free to choose this place if you don’t care when you get your clothes back. But if you have anything serious or that needs to get to you at a certain time, go somewhere else.

So for people that are supposed to know how to launder clothing they fall extremely short. I can’t believe the mess they made of my wash and fold. I’ve been doing my own laundry for 20 years and I’ve never had a problem. This isn’t brain surgery guys, it’s laundry, and that supposed to be your job and you can’t seem to get that right.
So basically I got my wash and fold back and there was hot pink all over my laundry… Most likely because they didn’t listen to my directions that I was very clear on comma to separate the laundry correctly. Again not brain surgery, whites, blacks, and colors, they’re all different and should be separated as such. And I’m pretty sure they let the laundry sit wet together, meaning all the colors together, for a while before they put it in the dryer. So to make a long story short just see below and you’ll see the pictures of the pink all of my clothing.
Update: I recommend if you have an issue with them whatever you do not to speak to the management there because they will treat you like a five-​year-​old child and reprimand you. I was just spoken to you in the most horrendous way by one of the managers there because I put up a bad Unilocal review… It’s completely inexcusable behavior on the part of a small business manager. Basically I was told that I didn’t have a right to tell other people that they’re incapable of doing laundry correctly on Unilocal because I had been a customer for two years and was satisfied with the dry-​cleaning aspect of it. I have only used the wash and fold twice and out of TWO times I have, they messed up once pretty badly and destroyed something I just bought and only wore once. But yeah you know how dare I say anything on Unilocal or be angry at all… Oh and God for bid I let any other potential customers know that their laundry might be destroyed also. Bottom line you guys need to learn how to apologize, fix the problem and accept it when you mess up!!!
As you can see below these people have no respect for their customers. You can see from the manager smug disrespectful attitude and his response to my review below. I mean to say something like «God bless The next cleaner???» That’s pretty low and it’s very childish. Just completely backing up what I said before that these people are seriously unprofessional.
The problem also has not been resolved considering the fact that you guys decided to keep one of my nicer blankets that I sent back to you along with everything else, instead of returning it to me. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is just done it purely of spite considering your level of professionalism or lack there of it…

I will make this story short.
I brought a suit and a couple shirts 2 months ago. When a week later I tried to pickup those items up, the suits was missing and a shirt was destroyed.
It took a FULL month of ME calling THEM every couple days and stopping there twice a week just to get them to admit that they lost my suit and I will never get the it back. Every time I was talking to someone they were assuring me the manager would call me right back. He called me back twice in that period.
It took an extra FULL month of ME calling/​emailing THEM every couple days to get some compensation which was at end was 100 $. I’m not sure what kind of suit you can buy for that price. Actually… I know: none.
I have personally one requirement from a dry cleaning which is to bring back the items I dropped off in at least the same state they were before — if it’s clean even better.
Accidents can happen, it’s life, but if you are professional you should be able to handle them.
Update:
A couple of hours after posting the review, I received a call from the manager and they miraculously found my suit. It was handed to the wrong customer and the guy apparently just returned it.
I really appreciate that they called me, returned my suit and actually let me keep the compensation so I’m adding an extra star.
Sadly, I still think things should have been handled differently and this ordeal could have been avoided.

I wanted to drop my comforter and sheets off at the cleaners before I went home for a holiday weekend so I could come home to fresh bedding and didn’t realize suits and skirts was closing at 7:00 pm (as was every other cleaner in Manhattan). I called them at 6:59 and asked them if they would stay open ten extra minutes and they did without any issue! The guy who waited had a smile on when I arrived and promised to have my bedding done by that Saturday.
Picked up my sheets and comforter when I got back and couldn’t be happier.
Definitely recommend to anyone in the Murray hill area!

I would have left Suits and Skirts a glowing review until my recent customer service issue.
I believe that Suits and Skirts lost one of my items. Of course, the item wasn’t on my receipt, so it’s really just my word against theirs — a reality that I accept. But I am not leaving this review because I think they lost something; I’m leaving it because they didn’t care to do anything about it or even try to look for it,.
After picking up my order one evening, I realized that I was missing a pair of pants. I said this to the employee and he said that my receipt did not indicate that I had dropped off that pair. He said that he would contact the manager about it and then get back to me.
Side note: my email receipts (which is a great idea in theory) never get sent to me until until hours after I’ve left the store — so if I can’t check the number of items on my receipt until well after I drop them off, how can I have clout when it comes to arguing my side of the situation I’m currently in?
Anyway, since that day I have called and emailed the store several times in an attempt to locate the pair of pants. My emails have received no responses, and the employee at the store that I recently called said he would contact the manager and get back to me, but I have not received a call.
I fully understand that I might have lost the item and never dropped it off — and I will gladly edit my review here if I find the pair of pants in my tiny New York apartment (and I’ve been looking all over). But at the very least someone at the store should have looked for the item and then told me «sorry, we couldn’t find it» instead of ignoring a paying, regular customer. I’m willing to bet that the pants just got put in the wrong bag or some other honest mistake, but I suppose I’ll never know.
I have been using Suits and Skirts since day 1 of my recent move to New York but I’m looking for another cleaner — I have not been back since this situation started. I have learned my lesson and I check my receipts (which are handed to me right after I drop off my items, unlike at Suits and Skirts) before exiting the cleaner I go to now.

Before you flip out and question the credibility of my reviews, I’m giving this 5-​star rating for their wash & fold service. I’m a lazy bum, as I’ve proudly announced in a few other reviews and I have a talent for extreme procrastination. I frequently run out of things to wear only to realize it at 10pm. So I found these guys through
and they were the only one available to pick up my laundry first thing in the morning the next day and deliver it the same evening with no extra charge. AMAZING! Plus, they have 20% discount for first-​time customers and their delivery window is super flexible. I decided to try them out and I’ve been impressed.
They haven’t lost anything and my clothes always come back smelling fresh and clean, neatly folded and on time. This consistently high quality and flexible last-​minute pick-​up and delivery window warrant a 4-​star review, I would say.
Not only that, they’re also super courteous. I once forgot that they were going to pick my laundry up within the hour and leisurely walked over to the post office. My doorman called to say that my laundry guy was there to pick up my non-​existent laundry bag! I freaked out and trekked it back in a panic. I thought I’d be the one apologizing but instead, this cute guy in a too-​cool-​for-​the-​office Oxford shirt and a scooter was the one apologizing for being early. He said he’d be happy to come back and that he’s just in the area so he thought he’d check to see if my laundry was ready. I felt like I was in an alternate universe.
Another time, I had overestimated the weight of my laundry and was surprised that when I got it back, they had actually adjusted the charge to be $ 3 less than I initially estimated. Seriously?! Honesty still exists in this world? Maybe there is hope for the world after all.
So there:
Hot guys picking up your laundry + on time delivery + flexible, last-​minute appointment + consistently high quality + honest, fair pricing = what more can you ask?
