The one star is for the convenience of being so close to the South Ferry station. But the positives end there. They work at way too leisurely a pace for a coffee chain like Starbucks, especially for a location like this that is full of business men and women and commuters who are on the go. It’s always packed with a line trailing outside the door, and it doesn’t help that the space is so tiny. The baristas are friendly enough, but they never have milk/cream out for people who are just getting plain old coffee. You have to awkwardly hand it back to them and have them pour it in. The real kicker is one time they messed up my order of coffee and cream…

Small and slow. They often have a huge backed up line out the door. Why is this even here when there are a thousand other starbucks around it?

It’s in my lobby. Can’t get much better than that.

I last visited on 6⁄7 at 3:45 pm after waiting in line out the door for 15 minutes, it took me 10 minutes to get my simple order(Venti Chai Latte). I don’t have 25 minutes to wait on a 10 minute coffee break. This store needs more staff!

Small location with no seating and is truly just for grab-n-go. Service was fine and the line wasn’t long for late weekday morning. But it was crowded with just 3 people waiting for drinks that I had to weave through to get from the register to the milk/sugar. Too bad they don’t have more room considering they are right across the South Ferry station.

A Starbucks with no seating, are you kidding me? I guess they can do whatever they want when people have a caffeine addition. This place must be owned by Gordon Gekko since it’s so close to the financial district. Drop off your money, and get outta here!

One of the rules I review places is how well trained employees are. In that sense, this place rocks! Every morning I drink a cup of coffee. No flavor, just regular coffee with sugar and milk. When I am at this Starbucks store, I ask for a cup of regular coffee. Then the employees ask me «Do you want you coffee bold? or mild?» Have you ever been asked that? I wasn’t even asked that at any coffee spots. Back to the story, I get panic, but say«um. just get me regular!» then they ask me again, «Do you need anything to eat for breakfast with the coffee?» GOOD! GOOD! They never look like they say it superficially. They really mean to ask me. Impressed! Tomorrow morning, I am going back there again and get my small regular coffee! ;)
