Dr. Shiu is a magic lady!
I fell on the ice while learning to skate. Landed on my right hip and could barely move and only made it home because i had a LOT of help After an hour, the pain was shooting from the back of my waist, down to my butt. I couldn’t move without wanting to cry. Dr. Shiu made an extra effort to see me within a few hours.
When I got there, Dr. Shiu was kind and got straight to assessing the problem and beginning treatment.
After the treatment and tips she gave me to handle the pain, I can walk, climb stairs and am 85% better, in just one session! I’m going back for more of her magic. I would absolutely recommend her to everyone. She’s not a ‘one-​treatment-​fits-​all’ doctor. She will do what is best for you.
Dr. Shiu is professional, personable and knows her stuff. Go see her!

Best Chiropractor ever! Dr. Shiu is truly sincere and really cares about your health and goes out of her way to follow up with you. Usually a good chiropractor is very hard to find since each of them vary in expertise and approach, and Dr. Shiu is a cut above the rest.

I always leave Karen’s sessions feeling significantly better. As a member of a competitive canoe racing team, I often had muscle imbalances which led to issues in my neck, shoulders and back. Karen was able to perform a sound physical assessment and to even predict certain aspects of my past medical history from her findings. Despite not having treated an athlete from such an obscure sport in the past, Karen was still able to quickly decipher what physical problems I had and to apply the appropriate adjustments that had me moving better and with less pain. Her treatment upon aspects of my neck and back that I could not perform on myself helped me tremendously in my training and self-​care. Very quick to respond to emails and texts.

I saw Karen in January for a chronic neck issue. Unlike other chiropractors I have worked with in the past, she actually sat down with me and got a full history, and didn’t jump right into adjusting. I was a bit scared of adjusting, so she worked out perfectly, because she didn’t even adjust me until several sessions in, and when she did the relief was instant! Many of the sessions were dedicated to properly showing me exercise technique so that I could avoid injury when I worked out alone, and she kept me accountable for my home exercises. She just discharged me and told me that i didn’t need to keep coming, which is so different than other chiros who kept me coming forever. She is just a incredible find I couldn’t be happier.

Dr. Shiu is a godsend. A few weeks ago I got the worst bout of back and rib pain that I’ve ever had in my life. Sitting aggravated it, so did pretty much any other physical activity. After only four sessions, I went back to the gym and feel like I have never really had any back issues at all. My posture is better, and physically I have never felt this strong. On a quick note, I’ve had a slap tear repair, both biceps torn, torn mcl, and a partially torn pectoral. Over the years I have managed to see many PT’s and Chiropractors. None of them are as knowledgeable and considerate as Dr.Shiu. Most therapists will issue a cookie cutter rehab program they give to all patients, so they treat all are specific problems the same. Each session with Dr. Shiu is customized based on the patients goals with pain management in mind.

I have been to other doctors and have gotten blood tests and well as various prescriptions. Nothing seemed to help my condition until I met Dr. Shiu. She performed a whole array of tests on my arm and neck and was able to pinpoint where my exact issue was. After my treatment sessions, she taught me how to do additional exercises at home to continue to help correct my problem. Also, I had never gotten treated from a chiropractor before and was very nervous about it, but Dr. Shiu made me feel so at ease. She clearly has a very thorough knowledge of her field, but she also genuinely cares about her patients and has a great passion for her work. I can’t thank Dr. Shiu enough.
