Meet the Business Owner

Manny D.

Business Owner

Manny Davis first started dancing at the early age of 4 with the national ballet academy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and «Palacio de Bellas Artes» where he learned Latin-American folkloric dance. As a teenager, Manny dedicated much of his time to martial arts, he owes much of his tremendous body control and coordination in dancing to these hours spent mastering martial arts.

Manny’s passion for dance got reignited in his early twenties. He briefly trained with Hacha y Machete Dance Company in Boston and then joined the dance troupe of Afro-Cuban Master Pupy Insua in New York. After leaving to find his own companies — Obatala Dance Company and currently Innova Dance Company — Manny has performed, solo and with his companies, at several international salsa congresses and venues nationally, including Broadway.

Manny’s style is a fusion of Afro-Cuban, modern and salsa dance. His choreographies emphasize body control, precise and rhythmical movement and above all creativity.
