The food is mediocre, and the bar tender that«served» us was a total jerk. He tried to charge us higher prices than what was listed on the menu, and then refused to correct it stating that the menu was a «misprint» and he was still going to charge me the higher price. Save your money and your time. As far as the staff go, it was just the one guy that was rude, but I doubt that the other staff members are like that.

Go for drinks not for dinner. Not a huge fan of the new menu, the food, the service or the theme– it’s Western not a Mexican Cantina. My friends and I decided to give it a try because we wanted margaritas. The drinks were good but the food was poorly executed. Chips were old and the salsa was not house made. I ordered a grilled chicken dish and the chicken was pan-fried not grilled it was greasy and over cooked. The other meals came out greasy with not much flavor. Food needs improvement to compete with the other Mexican restaurants in Aggieville(Coco Bolos, Taco Lucha, and Fuzzy’s.)

Been there threw times so far. Every time had the same issues. Great food, but the service needs drastic help. Long waits for even the simplest of things even when it’s not busy. The guy manager is better than all the waitresses by far, he actually pays attention and brings you new drinks and chips. Overall it’s good food, the price is a tad high for the quality though.

When I heard Rusty’s was now Rusty’s Mexican Grill, I was skeptical. But not anymore. Rusty’s hits it right where Mexican food lovers expect it, for the most part. You won’t get free bottomless chips and salsa anywhere else in Aggieville — immediate star added for that. For an entrée, I was pleased with the chimichanga, except it could have been topped with more cheese. My wife had a fajita quesadilla that she said was good, but added it wasn’t the best ever. In her opinion, every entrée at a Mexican restaurant should come with rice and beans, which don’t come with all entrees at Rusty’s. She also had a margarita and a piña colada. Both were good, although the latter is by far the better deal at $ 1 less and almost twice the size of the $ 6 standard-sized margarita(there’s a $ 1042oz marg, FYI). Finally, the service actually was a vast improvement over the times we’ve eaten at Rusty’s before the menu change. Our waitress was fun, attentive and quick. Overall, I’ve gotta go with three stars. There’s room for growth, but this place is well worth your time and money(prices are what you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant).

We were here for a special event in the back room outside; the food was very good, and the service was great. Even though it was freezing outside, it was toasty and warm in this free standing ‘garage’ type building.

Interesting bar, now I know K-state isn’t known for championships in basketball but please get a decent basketball to use on the goal in the open area.

Last Chance was my favorite bar in college and I was looking forward to checking it out when I moved back to Manhattan. Wow, how times have changed. The food is horrible. It was never fine dining but had been a dependable, college food option. Even worse, the atmosphere was gone. At one time Last Chance had the most diverse bar crowd in town. On a Saturday afternoon you would find a baseball team after a game at one table, a group of bikers at another, a bunch of international students at another and a group of old hippies next. Everyone was there and everyone got along great. Almost all the diversity is gone. The final straw was when a friend of mine who is gay had a very bad experience with the staff.

Oh Rusty’s … Rusty’s is kind of the centerpiece of Aggieville. It’s one of the better college town bars I have ever frequented.

Worst bar in Aggieville, owned by the scummiest guy in Manhattan. When I first came to college here«Rusty’s» was the best bar in town. Over the past 6 years though it has been ran into the ground which is why it is no longer«Rusty’s last chance» now its just«last Chance» because the old owner Rusty was so ashamed of how it was being ran he sued Pete(the current owner) to get his name of the Sh*t Hole!!! Do not waste you time there. The drinks are extremely weak and the entire place is very dirty.

Oi, I spent many a drunken night at Rusty’s back when I was stationed at Ft. Riley. Slightly more college peeps than military so that was a welcome change for me. Cheap drinks and fun times. Great outdoor patio. My favorite night was when my hometown OSU Buckeyes beat K State at KS. Lots of KS football players were drowning their sorrows when suddenly the DJ started playing«Hang On Sloopy». My drunk ass happily hopped up on a picnic table and did the obligatory«O-H-I-O» chant to said song. Being a cute 21 year old back then I thankfully didn’t get beat up, but the looks on those players faces was priceless.

I spent many a day at Chance in my college days and never had a bad experience. With so many options(Outback, outside, Next Door, and whatever else has been expanded to since my graduation in ’01), you can find quite a variety of people. I do remember eating there once or twice and the food was great. It’s best when the weather is great so that the inside bars don’t get so crowded.

If you are looking for a good bar in Aggieville, I don’t know why anyone would go anyplace other than Rusty’s Last Chance. This defines the«Aggieville» nightlife experience for me, with the admittedly small sampling of experiences that I have!
