New Eastern Spa

sometimes I’m afraid of telling my friends about this place because I don’t want to share the secret! Every massage I’ve gotten here is AMAZING.
They really work out all the kinks — so definitely don’t go if you don’t like pressure and/​or bruise easily. It hurts so good!

Oh my lord, these people know how to give a great massage! Though I am not a huge fan of the cheap and sometimes creepy Asian massage places throughout manhattan, it is worth putting up with the partition walls, the weird smelling massage oil and the fact that you can hear whatever is going on in the lobby.
I have been here on three different occasions and each masseuse was spectacular. They can intuitively tell where you are most tense and skillfully work out your knots. Massages here are worth every single penny and I would liken them to those offered by physical therapists/​professional masseuses not affiliated with a spa. Seriously, don’t waste your money at Bliss. For the price of just one massage there, you could get 4 one hour massages here that are better quality! A one hour massage is around $ 60.

These people truly enhance the quality of my life. I have been going to New Eastern for about a year and hardly miss a week. Sue and Linda are wonderful and always so nice. The place is not fancy, but clean and the prices are unbelievable. I had ankle surgery a couple of years ago and my ankle still gets very tired when I exercise it. It helps a ton to have my feet worked on weekly. Sometimes I get full body massages as well and those are great too. I have had tons of massages in my life and have been to many spas throughout the world. I have paid hundreds of dollars for a 50 minute massage only to feel like I spent 50 minutes getting petted. It’s stupid to pay so much money for a «one hour» massage (50 minutes). For less than the amount one would pay for an «upscale» 50 minute massage you can go to New Eastern and get a 2 hour deep tissue massage. I love this place and believe me I am a tough customer. Make sure to call ahead because the word is out that this place is a real find! Tell them that Victoria sent you and you will get extra special lovin’!

I went here yesterday for a 60 min massage «body rub» as they call it and it was fantastic. While it was a bit painful, it was necessary for all of my knots and sore areas from the Tough Mudder I had done the day before. I left there feeling refreshed and loose. It is a simple place, no luxuries but a basic and quality massage at an unbeatable price. I will absolutely be returning here. I had Lo who definitely knows what he is doing, I look forward to returning.

Sue gives a great massage. I was very happy with my experience there. Prices are very reasonable. I’ll definitely be back.

I was offered a sex act at the end of my massage at this dingy, cheap place. I was teased into, had I bought into it — could have been on my conscience for the rest of my life!

I like this spot because its cheap and close to where I live. There is a woman named Susan here who gives a great massage. There are two other people who work here and help run the place. One woman (who is always at the front desk) and and older male (maybe in his50’s)
For the most part I’ve had a decent experience here, esp because you usually don’t need an appointment, and as I mentioned above, Susan does a good job. However two instances made me consider whether or not I should stop coming here.
#1) I went in for an hour massage and end up getting the male as my masseuse. It was a little weird but I was ok with it until the towel that covered me «slipped» as he was massaging me. He attempted to apologize but the entire thing just felt a little shady to me.
#2) I called to make an appointment for 8pm one day and the woman said it was ok. Once I get there she asks me to wait 15 minutes. She claimed she tried to call me to come later but that the call didn’t go through. In actually she doesn’t have long distance coverage service (I have an out of state number) so thats why her call never went «through». I was pretty upset, but she convinced me to stay telling me that she’ll give me a special rate on the massage.
So I undressed and sat in the little room for what was close to 25 minutes! After that, I actually put my clothes on and was ready to leave, but just as I was leaving she opened the door. So I reluctantly undressed again and lay down… only to get the worst massage ever! This woman could not deliver a good massage… at one point she even tried to get out of it and asked me if it was ok if a man came into massage me. to that I said NOOOOO. So she continued… and she sucked… and at the end of the massage, she got on top of me and was banging on my back with the small plastic timer they use to time the massages… very bizarre.
To top it off, she acted stupid for some reason and asked me if it was my first time there. I was dumbfounded when she asked that because it was my 7^th or 8^th time there and every time I go, I check out at the front desk with HER.
Anyways, despite these two incidents, I went back recently and was very happy to receive a good massage from Susan. I have two more spots to fill on my card until I get a free massage, so I’ll definitely be back sometime soon!
