Honestly if you’ve arrived at this page, stop your search. Wiggy and his team are your answer. These guys will get the job done, and they will do it WELL. They’re knowledgable and experienced, and most importantly, they’re incredibly easy to work with. Wiggy is great about getting in touch after you’ve put in an inquiry, he’s easy to communicate with for scheduling, and his pricing is fair. These guys took a very complicated bracket, rod and curtain hanging project for 3 separate rooms all with their own challenges and knocked it out (where others had previously failed to get it done right). They problem solve tricky surfaces, walls or ceiling with the right approach, and they just figure things out. Good dudes, and great handymen. You will not regret using this crew.

Though the name rubs me the wrong way (no pun intended), Mr. Handy is no joke. I have virtually zero knowledge about handymen and what kind of knowledge/​skill set is required of a handyman, but I think it’s safe to say that Wiggy and his team have it. Wiggy himself is all things awesome: responsive, efficient, knowledgeable and just generally a cool dude. Unilocal does not lie about these guys!
I emailed Wiggy about a couple of jobs I needed done for my new apartment: putting up my curtain rods/​curtains, mounting my TV on the wall, and hanging a few pictures. He got back to me almost immediately and was incredibly flexible with time. I actually ended up needing to cancel our first appointment due to a work conflict, but he was incredibly understanding. Last week, we finally confirmed a time, and we were quite literally, in business. Wiggy made sure to check what my walls were made of beforehand, which ended up making a big difference — props for thoroughness.
Wiggy ended up bringing another guy with him but assured me I wouldn’t have to pay double (I didn’t). He apologized for being late initially, though he only came 10 minutes after our scheduled time. I’m so used to people giving me delivery windows and showing up at the least opportune times, so I was completely fine with this — I just appreciated the commitment to customer service, overall. Because they were so efficient, the «tardiness» didn’t end up mattering.
I won’t walk you through their step by step (because…why?), but I’ll just reiterate that Wiggy and his partner were quick, professional and personal. Everything looks perfect, and this comes from someone with an OCD mother who is obsessed with design. In other words: if something is crooked, I notice. Immediately. He didn’t end up mounting my TV, because as it turns out, an «articulating wall mount» (I learned a new term that day, so this was educational, too!) isn’t compatible with a concrete/​plaster hybrid wall. Apparently, that combo results in a falling TV. Which is really never a good thing unless a screenwriter decides it works for dramatic effect. So I’ll need to schedule a new job once I have the right mount, but thankfully I know I can expect fantastic service from Wiggy and his team once the mount arrives.
Lastly, I’d say the price is quite reasonable. $ 70 per hour with a two-​hour minimum. In New York, that’s a damn good deal.

Don’t hesitate. Call Mr. Handy without any worry. We all know it is a challenge to find and select someone, someone you want to invite into your apartment, someone you trust to be in your apartment… and of course someone who can do the job.
Wiggy and Co were amazing… stayed late to get this project done. They were also really flexible and were able to come quicker than I had anticipated. You will get a professional who is super cool and super friendly– and is 100% handyman (capable) and a bit of an artist too!

Their team did a myriad of things for me today (grouting bathroom, installing lights, ikea assemble, etc) and it was such a pleasure to have them work on my apt. Very responsive via email, they came ahead of time to assess everything and I am very happy with the result. I already have plans for them to come back. Highly recommended!

Just had a wonderful experience with Mr. Handy. I emailed and got a response within a few hours. The very next morning, Rico came to my apartment and hung a large mirror and curtains. Great Service all around. Competitive/​Reasonable pricing. Trusting people. I had two wooden shelves installed and a bookcase from Ikea assembled and installed (mounted to a wall); Mari completed the task under 2 hours and was extremely gentle, polite and professional. Lui coordinated the job and was extremely responsive in his emails and texts. I will definitely use their service again!

I e-​mailed Mr. Handy, and got a response within an hour. I had expected this whole process to take a long time, so I had e-​mailed before I had even bought the countertop that I wanted them to install. After a couple of back and forth e-​mails, we had hammered out a date and time.
The morning of the job, Wiggy e-​mailed me, saying that he himself could not make it (his daughter had a high fever), so he sent his No. 2, Mari. In case anyone is wondering if it has to be Wiggy, it doesn’t. I’m sure Wiggy is great. No offense, sir. But Mari was one of the most thorough, patient, clean, and ACCURATE handymen I could have asked for. He was sawing a table, and well, I’d rather accurate than fast for something like that.
Professional, not-​just-​courteous-​but-​actually-​nice, and very good at what they do. Their rates are reasonable for a handyman, and I don’t see myself ever using anyone else for this kind of work. Reviews like this tend to only be for one of two reasons: you hate the company, or you love the company. Me? I love this company.

Mr. Handy is an exceptional service!
We needed help cleaning our studio and Mr. Handy went above and beyond. They broke down all the shelves and tables that were installed to the wall and left the place spotless after they were done. Lui «Wiggy» updated us throughout the day of their progress through texts and pictures. They even took care of the trash removal for us! Highly recommended and we will definitely keep using them in the future.

Excellent service and can’t beat the price if you are living in Manhattan. Will use them again.

These guys are great. I emailed with Wiggy on a Friday and he sent Erick over on a Saturday to help me put up a big mirror over the couch. Erick was super nice, helpful and efficient. Pricing is super reasonable.

This company is AMAZING!!! I am not the type to write Unilocal reviews or over-​inflate the truth. But I will share exactly my experience. From the moment I messaged Wiggy, he was very courteous and I told him exactly what I was looking to do in my apartment. I had a very big project that involved assembling chairs from Ashley Furniture, hanging up glass shelves, installing whiteboards, installing spice racks, installing corner shelves, installing a bathroom mirror, hanging up the Elfa racks from The Container Store, installing shower corner shelves into the tile, etc.
Wiggy was able to schedule for Mari to come the same day when I called. None of the other vendors I called had that availability. Only Mr. Handy NYC was able to offer same-​day service!
The person who came to do the job was Mari. He was OUTSTANDING!!! He measured everything precisely so it would be perfect. He used the leveler on everything to confirm it was perfect. He took off his shoes when he entered our apartment. He even collected the dust after he would drill a hole through the wall to hang up a shelf. He worked close to 15 hours on this project. Mari never complained, he was super nice, and his work was excellent!
Going forward, this will surely be my #1 phone call and #1 GO-​TO SERVICE for using a handyman. I now recommend them to my colleagues, friends, and family. Their work was excellent, their service was outstanding, the pricing was excellent. I am very lucky I trusted the Unilocal reviews in choosing Mr. Handy NYC. I needed to hang curtains for extremely difficult windows. Several other handymen stated they would not be able to do anything for us based on the difficulty of the task. Mr. Handy NYC sent Mari within 3 hours of my initial text. He was the most pleasant and efficient man. He hung the curtains, kept everything extremely clean and was lovely to me and my dog. The pricing was very reasonable. We will be using them again. Highly recommended.

Miguel was great! Hired them to paint our closets and install a new closet system. Although the closet system did not fit perfectly he worked with us to cut some of the pieces to make sure it fit.

I’ve had Wiggy and Mike do several projects in my apartment: from painting to installing a new bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet, they have always done a great job. I called this place on a Saturday morning looking for someone to hang shelves in a brick wall. Even though Saturdays are super busy, Wiggy sent Mike a few hours later. Mike did a great job hanging our shelves and was a cool guy on top of it. I plan to call them anytime I need some work done.

I called up wiggy one Saturday afternoon because I had a few projects around the apartment to tackle. He was able to come later that afternoon with his partner mike and they did a wonderful job.
Wiggy was incredibly professional and kept me up to date with his ETA. They brought their own tools including nails etc. and we’re able to finish about 6 – 7 projects within an hour and a half (taking a door off the hinges, installing a curtain rod, installing an ikea lack shelf, installing an ikea norbo wall table, and hanging a handful of pictures including a very heavy clock). It was clear that they were both experienced and answered all of our questions. Not to mention that they were both incredibly nice and fun to have around. Wiggy even texted me when he realized later we had overpaid him– and he venmod me back the money. I think that’s the perfect demonstration of his professionalism and character.
I would definitely hire this duo again. Thanks wiggy for your work, my apartment is looking amazing!
