Description

Specialties

We provide psychological services to adults, adolescents, and children. We specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy, an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that is especially effective for anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship problems, self-esteem problems, tic disorders, and behavioral problems.

We have two specialty programs that are unique among New York therapy practices: the MCCBT Tourette Syndrome program and the MCCBT Trichotillomania program. Trichotillomania is a disorder of chronic and repetitive hair pulling that is difficult to stop.

We also specialize in providing mindfulness-based therapies including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, a treatment for depression.

History

Established in 2010.

The Manhattan Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy uses therapy approaches that are supported through scientific research and are shown to be effective for problems such as anxiety, OCD, depression, ADD, low self-esteem, trichotillomania, Tourette Syndrome, relationship problems, addictive behavior, and other difficulties. Over the years we have added experts in several areas including depression, OCD, PTSD, body-focused repetitive behaviors, couples therapy, the emotional impact of cancer, mindfulness-based therapy, and career counseling. We have also established a clinical externship program that enables us to provide a reduced-fee therapy option.
