Joseph Manfredi, DDS

I am so grateful for Dr. Joe Manfredi. Last night after my show’s opening night party I was helping a drunk friend down the stairs when they fell and took me down with them, face-​first, onto the sidewalk breaking both of my front teeth. I called 311 and they gave me a couple of numbers. One for a dentist that said it would cost $ 3500 up front to have them fixed the next day (had to have them fixed before the next show) and the number for Dr. Joe. Dr. Joe called me back at 7am and met me at his office at 9:30 am. I was completely at ease with him and I am usually pretty tense when I go to the dentist. He was so kind, funny, considerate and straight forward. I never thought I would say this, but I actually had fun getting dental work. He checked with me multiple times to make sure the teeth were looking like what I wanted them to look like. He also took extra care to make sure my diction was in tip-​top shape — I felt taken care of knowing that he knows how important that is for an actor. The teeth are beautiful — everyone that knows me says they look great and that they would never know that they had been broken. I am so grateful that the whole ordeal was over and done with so quickly (less than 12 hours from the fall to a completely perfect smile). He also worked out a payment plan with me which was so so very helpful. Dr. Joe was such a pleasure to work with, I am actually looking forward to going in for my follow-​up appointment and I am very happy to have found a dentist that I trust.

I came here for a consultation regarding teeth contouring. Dr. Manfredi assisted me with my concerns and thoroughly reviewed my case with me. I have been to many dentists before but have never had the same experience. I am extremely pleased with my visit.

My recent visit was on 9÷18÷15. I was a bit nervous due not having an exam in years. The staff made me feel very comfortable. First there was Rita whom is the receptionist. She was great. Despite what people have said about her on here she was very professional and did her job. Linda whom cleaned my teeth and also did my xray was extremely professional and kind spoken. She answered my questions while cleaning my teeth. Finally there was Joe Manfredi. He is awesome. He answered ALL of my questions. I will be coming back and I would recommend him.

OK I have been a patient of Dr. Rubenstein for many years so when Dr. Manfredi took over I was like OK, whatever… I knew I needed a bunch of work done. I like that he offered me several me several options and let me pick the one that I could (kinda) afford. I also like that I had an absolutely painless double root canal. Yup, no pain = 5 stars in my book.

This dentist has the rudest, most unprofessional receptionist I have ever encountered in my entire life. Her name is Rita, she has a thick Russian accent.
Each time I have come to visit this dentist, she goes out of her way to be disrespectful, insult me, and treat me inhumanely.
Every time I walked into this office and smile and say hello to RIta, there is no response and she just frowns and ignores me or gives me dirty looks. Then when I am checking out, she will start insulting me. and make racist remarks. She does this when the dentist is not there.
I have spoken to other patient’s and they have told me she does the same thing to them. Last time I was there she barged into Dr. Manfredi’s office while he was doing work on me and asked when he was going to be finished… she made him nervous and the chair I was in was quickly brought back up and I feel he rushed the work because of her… While in the waiting room I have heard her using the F– word and making fun of patient’s to the other receptionist there.
Dr. Manfredi is respectful and very nice but I will not be coming back here again because of her. Other patients have told me they stopped going because of her as well.

Dr. Manfredi is a great dentist. I’ve been going to him for over 8 years and I can only say great things. I did a few front veneers and they look very natural. Keep up the good work Dr. Manfredi!

I used to be a patient of Dr. Rubenstein, who was very reliable. After some years, he changed partners or combined practices with Dr. Manfredi. With absolutely no prior notice, they had Manfredi check me out instead of my usual. I have not had cavities or changed my oral care for years. Dr. Manfredi tells me I suddenly have more cavities than I can count in one hand after a clean bill half a year before. Sound fishy?
I went to X-​Cel for a second opinion and they are so high-​tech, they put a camera in my mouth and took images of my teeth for me. They were in perfect condition. If I was dumb enough to go through with what Manfredi suggested, I would have unnecessarily drilled a handful of holes in my teeth and been out quite a bit of money. Maybe dentists have different definitions of what is considered a cavity but did I feel SCAMMED? Quite certainly.

I received a message from another patient of Rubenstein thanking me for the warning and letting me know Rubenstein only goes in once a a week now. I decided to revisit the page and noticed three 5-​star reviews.
Isn’t it suspicious that the 3 positive reviews are by reviewers who have not written any other reviews and also do not have photos? They all also joined Unilocal within the same time frame, April-​May, 2013. It feels extremely shady, dishonest, and makes me wonder if they are real people.

Dr. Manfredi is honest, knowledgeable and friendly. A talented, young dentist with a great sense of humor. I have been seeing him since he was in dental school and have followed his career to his own practice. Make your appointment today – just be forewarned – he’s popular, so make sure you book in advance!

I have been a patient of Dr. Manfredi’s since I moved to the city and he’s amazing! …My teeth are not. I have grinding issues that went addressed for years and from wearing down my enamel, my teeth are more susceptible to cavities. This resulted in a lot of experience with different dentists and Dr. Manfredi is by far the best I’ve experienced. I went to another dentist once in the city (after Dr. Manfredi left his previous practice to start his own practice, information his previous practice didn’t share with me) and upon seeing one of Dr. Manfredi’s fillings on my x-​rays, she said «Oh my god, that’s an incredible filling! That guy saved your tooth!» In addition to his skills, he explains everything he does before he does it, is easy to work with, and is completely tuned in when he works. If you’ve got a toothache, don’t wait (it only gets much much worse), go see this guy.

HA HA HA! I just want to verify that I am real person. The super sleuth who posted on April 6^th got it wrong– conspiracy to practice dentistry… brilliant. I know that finding a new dentist is stressful after you’ve grown to trust another one, thats why I tracked Dr. Manfredi down. I intentionally signed up to review Dr. Manfredi because the place where he previously practiced would not give me his new information, and assuming they were doing the same for his other patients, I wanted to put my experience with him out there. It’s not altruistlic, I don’t want him moving to the Island or something. I’m sure some communication with Dr. Manfredi or Dr. Rubenstein would have been better than some paranoid deduction as to his integrity and sincerity in his practice. Doesn’t it seem contradictory that Dr. Rubenstein who was so trustworthy would partner with the type of person you are describing? I think people should be a little more careful about how they review businesses… one of the reasons I don’t have more reviews posted, I’m not going to try to damage someone’s livelihood because of what I perceived in one experience. Anyway, thanks for trying to invalidate my review!
