Ian is an absolute dream in a broker. He found me and my boyfriend a dream apartment. I am completely new to Manhattan and had no idea what I was doing. Ian really showed me what neighborhoods fit my lifestyle and he was very flexible with time. The other great thing Ian does for you is personally show you around the area, so you see the neighborhood you might be living in. Ian asks all the questions others might not on your behalf and he truly goes above and beyond for his clients. In the near future my boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back to Ian to buy a place. If you are needing a broker in NYC, don’t hesitate to call Ian. He makes you feel comfortable and works very hard to give his clients what they want!

My boyfriend and I had looked high and low and found that seemingly everything was either too expensive, or didn’t meet several of the criteria we were looking for in an apartment. We met Ian through a strong reference and he quickly set up visits to many places we were unable to find on our own. Within a day or so he had helped us narrow it down to exactly what we wanted and sure enough, we found a place within our budget that exceeded our expectations in quality! We are so excited to have found the apartment we did, and Ian’s professionalism and care for his client’s outcomes were the reasons for our success.

My Girlfriend and I searched tirelessly for an apartment in Hell’s Kitchen and didn’t know where to turn after wasting so many hours on Craigslist, Zillow, misleading listings etc. When we met Ian– it was night and Day!
I kid you not within 6 hours of searching we found our dream apartment. We have been living there for 6 months and plan on renewing. I have never been so happy with a real estate agent. I recommend him more highly than I can express in a review.

Ian saved me stress, time, and money. I came in contact with him via a glowing referral from a friend and have been pleasantly surprised throughout the entire process.
He is extraordinarily familiar with all of the apartment buildings and managers, which means we were able to quickly see many places. He provided me with comps across different areas so I had a good idea of the relative value of different locations. He was even able to improvise our schedule throughout the day as I found things I liked and didn’t like so we weren’t wasting time.
Ian also saved me lots of money by negotiating on my behalf with the building company.
The net impact of all of this was me finding a great place I’m very happy with much quicker and for a much lower cost than I was initially expecting. It only ended up taking a few hours one afternoon to zero in on the opportunity thanks to his efficiency.
After settling on a place Ian really took over on my behalf. I was approved in under two hours and he hand delivered the necessary paperwork and funds for me. I literally had to do nothing beyond making a decision, and he dealt with all of the complexities of renting a place in NYC without taking any more of my time.
Not to mention he turned out to be a good guy who was enjoyable to be around, very professional, and gave very sensible advice along the way.
I can’t recommend him highly enough.

This is a few years late, but still important.
My fiancé and I moved to NYC in August 2011. We had 2 weeks between when I accepted my new job in NYC to start to move from Boston to NYC. We were new to the NYC real estate scene and had not had any success until we met Ian.
Originally we had wanted to move immediately on a particular unit. However it fell through when the land lady wouldn’t approve our application — our guarrantor was too good so she didn’t believe it was her reason.
Anyway, Ian took the reins from there and worked with us diligently and patiently until we landed the apartment we live in today. As everyone has said, he’s patient and extremely knowledgeable about Midtown West. He’s also very flexible. Due to our troubles with the original landlady he reduced his fee from 15% of the annual to the rent for that unit ($ 2000). We couldn’t believe it, but we also never saw a drop in service from him after the fact.
Now that we’re considering moving again I can promise that we’d use Ian if we decide to stay in Hells Kitchen or the west side.

I recommend using Ian’s services to anyone who is looking for professionalism, respect, quick service, patience and superior knowledge especially in the Midtown West area. He has proven to me and my various friends in the past three years through securing us apartments, that he truly is unmatched in the area.
I was lucky to have met Ian three years ago after some very negative experiences with other brokers and had very specific requirements for my apartment. Ian not only met with me before looking at places but met with me time and time again to see a multitude of apartments. He worked with me through my own specific concerns and issues and even went beyond what i thought any broker would by dog sitting my puppy for three days while I had to go out of town for an emergency.

My roommates and I found Ian through the less than ideal process of trial and error with inquiring about apartments from ads online. Ian was easily the most knowledgeable and on top of what we wanted because he specializes in Hell’s Kitchen — the only area we were looking in. He could not only talk about the apartments in terms of what the apartments had and when they were renovated, but also what the supers and property managers were like because he has worked in the neighborhood for so long. On top of that, I said it was important that I have a good amount of closet space NOT in the master and he delivered in multiple apartments. He stayed within our budget, got us something that we absolutely love and did not show us a single apartment we didn’t like (pretty amazing for this city!). On top of that, our process was constrained by multiple factors (crazy work schedules, impending travel, strict deadlines) and none of it phased him. I’d recommend him to any of my friends in a second. He genuinely cares about his clients and wants to make sure they are happy in their new homes.

Ian helped my organization find our new office and did a truly wonderful job. I can be pretty demanding and we had very specific space needs — Ian patiently showed us tons of great options, responded to our shifting requests and delivered a place that was perfect for us. Given Ian’s strong relationship with the owner, he was able to achieve everything we requested in negotiation and our signing process was painless. From the time I saw the space until the time we signed the lease was, incredibly, less than a week. I would highly recommend him.

I worked with several real estate agents and Ian was by far the most qualified. Searching for properties on Craigslist seems like a complete waste of time in retrospect because once I began working with Ian, the process because less time-​intensive for me and much more effective. One of the best aspects of my experience working with Ian is that he was able to show me properties that I liked in many different neighborhoods. His knowledge and connections definitely extend beyond any single particular neighborhood. I am so current in the apartment I found, and I owe that to him.

I had every expectation that finding a new apartment was going to be painful, and frustrating, and involve seeing lots of crappy places before something finally worked out. Ian made my experience the exact OPPOSITE. It turned out to be fun, pretty simple, and an overall great experience. We ended up with an apartment that exceeded our expectations — one we would NEVER have found without him. He has connections who tip him off when the best apartments come on the market, so you can jump on it before the crowd comes through. This was my first time using a broker in NYC, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Ians approach to placing clients is methodical, smart, and passionate. My to-​be roommate and I approached him about finding a place in his specialty area, hells kitchen, and he responded with a bunch of questions about what type of place we were interested in. Taking our responses into consideration, he set up several ‘test’ viewings before it was really time to look for our move-​in date just to gauge our reactions to certain features. When the time came, it only took 2 or 3 places until we landed an amazing place. And Ian has been completely hands-​on with the whole process, even coming to take pictures of the place just before we moved for our records. Above and beyond is this guys mantra. Oh and hes totally entertaining.

My wife and I were put in touch with Ian through a friend and we we’re extremely pleased. We moved from NJ to NYC and Ian was super helpful through the whole process. He met with us a few times prior to finding the right place and always took as much time as we needed and we never felt rushed. Each time we would meet, he would have a wide selection of apartments to check out within our price range and would help us weigh the pros and cons of each compared to the last. At the end of our visits he would even email us a quick recap of each apartment we had looked at to help my wife and I discuss.
I could see how finding the right real estate agent could be a very difficult experience, but Ian seriously made the process seamless and we would recommend to anybody and everybody!
