Wow, Perry definitely lived up to the reviews here — as others have said, professional, dedicated and knowledgeable. He was easy to communicate with and responsive to emails.
I needed help with fixing an extendable table that wasn’t extending and, after an initial meeting to assess the situation, he showed up with the right tools and determination to figure out the issue, which he did in 30 minutes.
Highly recommend!

Mr. Perry is a kind man, thoughtful and fair with his pricing. He will treat your home and you with respect! He installed three ceiling fans for us and he did a great job.

If I could give Perry a higher rating I would. He came by to asses the job I needed done and came back and finished with in a timely matter. Not only did he get the job done but he asked if I needed anything else and literally is THE nicest New Yorker around. I highly recommend him for any household needs. His wife also called me to make sure she would get a hold of Perry so that my issues could get taken care of. Prompt, reliable, sweet, and professional!

If I could give more than 5 stars, trust me, I would. I had a bed that needed putting together and it was heavy, had about a million pieces and I was already tired from setting up the rest of the place. I called Perry and he was able to come the same day. Both Perry and is wife Johnny Mae are kind, sweet, funny and so easy to talk to. They arrived early to my place in Washington Heights and it was non-​stop, fun conversation from start to finish. Fair price, great work and I will be calling him again for other tasks as he knows his stuff, that’s for sure.

Perry is in our house right now hanging some big heavy curtains that we messed up the first time and installing a ceiling fan/​light combo. The fan is unusual, and apparently came with a faulty remote receiver. Rather than telling us to get a replacement, he took the time to puzzle out a way to bypass it and rig the light to the wall dimmer and the fan to the remote. It was a really elegant solution to a vexing problem and allowed us to get the thing up and working.
He also brought us some strawberries he bought at a vender on the way over to our place. So sweet and a such a charming little gesture! He’s a really nice man and very easy to be around. Not to mention, his prices are extremely reasonable.
We’ll be keeping a «Harlem Handyman List» of home projects that are too complicated for us and look forward to having Perry back again and again to help us keep our home in full working order. He’s a gem!

Perry was so great! He hung a chandelier for my wife and I in our baby’s nursery. He was punctual, even a few minutes early. His work was extremely professional and he was so pleasant to be around. We can’t say enough about what a wonderful experience it was to have him help us prepare our nursery for our baby. He will always be our handyman from now on!

He was so incredibly helpful. He is also an incredibly nice guy and gave us a very fair price. He was very patient with us and finished all of the projects we threw at him with ease. We will certainly be calling him again

I recently moved back to Sugar Hill and needed to find a go-​to handyman since I plan to stay in the neighborhood indefinitely. I was fortunate enough to find Perry Ivy on Unilocal.
Last week Perry & his wife stopped by to provide a very fair quote on a ceiling fan installation. I received the fan over the weekend and emailed Perry on Sunday night to check his availability. On Monday morning I already had an email from him letting me know that he could install the fan that same day!
The fan works perfectly and they are a dream duo. JohnnyMae is the type of woman that I could spend hours chatting with over a cup of tea. They both have a great sense of humor and are just the sweetest people. I look forward to using their services for many years to come.

I agree with you guy’s Mr. Perry and his wife are a very lovely couple & they are nice to talk with very good spirited people. They really get the job done, they are well organized and do very neat work. They got the job done in half the time that I thought they would in and out great job guy. I highly recommend tthat they did a fantastic job .
