Hari NYC

I was visiting NYC and took a class with Parvati at Hari to practice some yoga while passing through town. I usually practice Vinyasa, so this was my first exposure to Kundalini– and my first time doing yoga in NYC, at that.
I expected to be packed into a small, muggy studio, rubbing shoulders with the other students. There was plenty of space and the atmosphere was extremely welcoming, intimate, and roomy! Parvati made a huge effort to teach me about the history and purpose of Kundalini yoga, and guided me through unfamiliar postures.
I left refreshed, energized, and most importantly, having learned new things about my body, my mind, and life. Kundalini is a departure from Vinyasa, but in the best kind of way. I will be sure to return every time I visit!

Hari NYC is a wonderful studio to practice Kundalini.
For the novice or advanced, the classes meet all where they are. I’ve attended with 4 different instructors and each one was great. And their gongs add a whole other level to the classes.

So happy I read the Unilocal reviews before going to yoga this morning. They were extremely helpful in steering me to the right place. Hari is wonderful and the class was perfect. You feel instantly comfortable and at peace. I can see why she has such a loyal following and I will be sure to make this a regular visit when I am in NYC. Thank you.

Hari NYC is a Kundalini Yoga studio where one can expect to get miracles and great time on a daily basis.
This is my personal experience: No matter how tired, sick, worn out, or depressed i happened to feel, i always left Hari NYC Healed, rejuvenated, uplifted, totally happy and energized !

Hari’s plays the Gong in the utmost exquisite depth. I hear angels chanting from the astral plane through her Gong, i see rays of light coming from other universes in the room through her Gong.

A gezellig studio that is stuffed with love and happiness. A perfect respite for the traveling kundalini yogi. They are welcoming and provide mats and blankets at no additional charge.
Hari’s effusive style combined with rigor provided a perfect state of well being. Next time I’m visiting I’ll return to her charming tree house.

I took my first Kundalini class yesterday with Hari. Everyone at the studio was extremely warm and welcoming. Hari was excellent and checked in with me frequently, knowing it was my first time practicing Kundalini. I am already planning my next visit to the studio and know that I will learn a great deal from Hari. I felt great after class and can’t wait to get back.

I took my first class with Hari last night. I loved it! This space is so warm, cozy, and inviting. I loved the detailed explanations and stories. During and after class I felt very connected to Hari. Plus, she’s funny and exudes joy. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and her answers are informative and kind. The environment is non-​competitive and non-​judgmental. I loved it! I will go back. .. and soon.

I’ve been praciticing yoga for eight years and review yoga classes all around the city for a website and this is by far my favorite yoga haven. I’ve been studying with Hari for four years now and she is a remarkable teacher. Even after all this time I’m still learning from her. She’s incredibly patient and kind with all her students and is consistent in sharing her enthusiasm for Kundalini yoga. She’s also a lot of fun.
In addition the studio attracts some serious yet fun yoga students and there is a warm feeling of community here.

I’ve been practicing yoga for 13 years, Kundalini specifically for 11 and Hari is by far my most favorite teacher I’ve had. If you’ve never done Kundalini yoga, this is an excellent place to give it a try (and probably fall in love with it). Hari is wise, warm, and very funny. There is no pretentious energy here nor will you feel lost if you’re new, the vibe is welcoming, patient, and fun. I walk out of this studio feeling a natural high. Can’t say enough good things about this place, just go!

Best Kundalini yoga in NYC in my opinion. The classes are small, the space is cozy. Hari’s classes are the best with extended gong on Monday nights. Hari is fun, relaxed and a great story teller.

This beautiful teacher is the real deal, I’ve been doing yoga in NYC since 1994, and her classes are truly remarkable. Go, get into it and have fun…

Hari Kaur is an amazing yogi, specializing in kundalini yoga. I first discovered Hari 3 years ago at a yoga center downtown. Hari recently left to open her own studio in midtown with her husband Dave, a jazz muscian– what a beautiful combination. This makes me super happy because it’s convenient to my work. However, I would travel just about any distance to visit her school. I’m hooked on the gong meditation, which I’ve only truly experienced with Hari. This practice, unlike other forms of the gym yoga that I used to take, focuses on energy creation, breath work and a gong meditation. Basically, the lights are dimmed, you lie down on your back and close your eyes while the gong is played. The gentle vibrations and sound are so relaxing and soothing. After my busy & stressful days at the office, I need this to unwind and find a few moments of tranquility. I literally come away from class a new and inspired man. There are also other classes that I take to improve my flexibility, finding calmness, relieve stress… all the teachers are fantastic. If you haven’t tried kundalini yoga, you must. I’m happy to share more of my experiences about Hari… She’s created a beautiful space and a wonderful community.
