Gotham Family Photos excels at capturing fleeting moments and important milestones, from pregnancy to your baby’s first days and beyond. In addition to amazing family photos shoots in our studio or the location of your choice, we offer in-​hospital sessions just after your baby is born, as well as maternity portraits and a special «Year in the Life» multi-​portrait program that follows your baby’s transformation during the first year.

We also photograph christenings, baptisms, baby-​naming ceremonies and brises. No matter the type of portraits — families, children, babies, newborns or more — Gotham Baby Photos’ unforgettable images reveal the spirit, emotion and beauty of all stages of your family members’ lives. History

Established in 2006.

Since 2006, Brett Deutsch has been one of the top portrait photographers in New York City. In 2010, Brett’s studio Deutsch Photography formed the sister-​company Gotham Family Photos to specialize in beautiful portraits of babies, children and families.

Business Owner

My name is Brett Deutsch, and I’m the owner of Gotham Family Photos www​.gotham​fam​i​lypho​tos​.com. I trained at Pomona College in California, and later in NYC at the New York Institute of Photography and the School of Visual Arts. But mostly I’ve learned how to take a great photograph by taking hundreds of thousands of pictures at home and all over the world.

No matter who or what I’m photographing — portraits, landscapes, street scenes, etc — I aim to capture images that are truthful and powerful. I consider myself a documentarian, someone who can tell a story with a single photograph.

In addition to my work around NYC, I’ve tramped with my cameras through 26 countries and all 7 continents, including Antarctica. My travel photography and portraits have been published in the United States (including the Dallas Morning News, the Kansas City Star and the Hartford News), and internationally (Time Out London, The Ottawa Citizen, The Regina Leader-​Post, and more).
