I have no words to describe the experience that I received with Emma. Personable, calm, relaxing… this was my first ever massage and the bar has been set very high.
She had the right amount of pressure and she knew exactly where I needed to be massaged to relieve the tension and aches.

Excellent massage. No music, no front desk, no fuss… just amazing skills and awesome relaxing massage.
Emma is very attentive to all injuries and issues. Really great person, made me feel very comfortable. I absolutely recommend. Also very reasonably priced, and she doesn’t accept tip. 90 min massage lasts exactly 90 minutes and you get your money’s worth and then some. I’m an avid massage getter and spa goer for about 10 yrs and this was the best I’ve had so far.

I got the 90 minute option. Best massage I’ve received (ever). Therapeutic & relaxing. i came in with some residual lower back pain; she worked on that but also on the muscles that connect to /​are affected by my lower back pain being out of whack. She talked to me about why certain muscle groups were tight; what activities I do that contribute to it, and about some exercises I could do as I continue to mend. I left feeling 2 inches taller and in a happy little trance. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about what’s going on with your body or vocalize if you want more/​less pressure. Emma’s a true professional. Also, it was so nice to skip the commercial «spa front desk» stuff and just enjoy her peaceful space.

Emma is the. best. She is so calming and her place is beautiful! You immediately feel your blood pressure decline when you walk in. There is literally a wall of plants in her place. A frickin wall of green in NYC! Her place is clean and very bright, even in the dreary winter months. Emma herself is very sweet. She will work on all of your problem areas with expertise. I always choose the 90 minute massage since I am a mess. I. Feel. Like. A million bucks every time I see her. I like to be beaten to a pulp, so I am sore for a day or two after. But her magic works. I cannot go more than a month without a massage from Emma, and when I do, I am all sorts of effed up. But the next time I see her, she fixes me. Make sure you discuss pain threshold prior to starting, and speaking up during because she can beat you up if you want, but take it from me — you will need to rest the remainder of the day after. Her prices are amazingly reasonable for her expertise, and she does bot accept tips, so the price is the price. She also has cats so if you are allergic, take something prior. I like cats, and they chatter sometimes, and it is so cute :)

A friend recommended that I get a massage from Emma at East Village Spa to iron out the knots in my shoulders (I am in front of a computer 20 hours a day) and she worked miracles! A lot cheaper than going to a big spa, and a lot more personal. Highly recommend!

I was lucky enough to be treated to a two hour massage with Emma and let me tell you, the woman is amazing! She definitely found my «gristle» and worked out every knot and kink. The experience was totally relaxing and she was attentive to my comfort and needs. I felt renewed at the end of our session. I can’t tell you how many people I recommended her to so far. You should not miss the chance to work with her.

A little bird told me that Emma is the chosen massage therapist of some very famous celebs — and since famous people can afford whoever they want, that’s a huge recommendation in itself.
She’s got an amazing technique — really precise, deep pressure where it counts, with seemingly x-​ray knowledge of the entire muscular system. «What’s are you going for there?» I asked as her fingers sank into my back and popped out the other side (just kidding). «Quadratus Lumborum,» she answered without missing a beat.
She doesn’t use anything with preservatives: I checked as I’m allergic to parabens. Plus for lovers of the Aussie accent — yes, she’s an Aussie, but shhhh! Try not to talk.
Then, there’s the stunning, lush vertical garden that bows gracefully through the space making you feel like you’re somewhere in Patagonia, not gritty NYC. Wow, excellent. Emma worked wonders on my back and neck area that was completely locked up after a busy work period. I walked out of my visit feeling alive once again. I also felt well cared for and looked after. The studio is both extremely tranquil and clean as well as of a pleasing design with a beautiful array of plant life. Emma used several oils that were all well chosen. The products are organic and of the best quality. Her fee is very reasonable. I am looking forward to my return.

As a professional dancer and personal fitness trainer, I get very sore and have had hundreds of professional massages (ok, I’m a massage junkie) and I mean it when I say that Emma gives the best massage I’ve ever had. Hands down. She is a gifted massage therapist who not only gives a relaxing massage, but also a healing massage.
Her oasis in the east village is clean and simple yet has all the little accoutrements one would hope for in a massage such as quiet environment, lovely selection of oils and scents, heated table, and relaxing music.
She is a real pro who usually works out of VERY expensive salons in NYC and this is a real bargain… ENJOY!!!
