Dr. Eric Linden is a Periodontist (gum disease, laser, and implant specialist). He is a Clinical Professor of Periodontics and Implantology at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. As a practitioner, he is a pioneer in the field of Laser Periodontal Surgery. On a daily basis, he utilizes LANAP and LAPIP (ND/​YAG), Erbium, CO2, and Diode lasers. He also specializes in bone regeneration, dental implants, and biostimulation. When necessary, he employs traditional periodontics.

He was the first periodontist to perform LANAP in New York City and New Jersey. With 29 years’ experience in periodontal and implant specialty practice, he now performs LANAP and other laser procedures every day. He has treated thousands of patients, performing tooth extractions, implants, and other periodontal procedures with various dental lasers. Most periodontists still treat advanced gum disease with traditional surgery which is better treated with LANAP. Although Dr. Linden still utilizes traditional surgery in some cases, a majority of his patients qualify for the LANAP protocol.

Many of Dr. Linden’s patients are direct referrals from other dentists, periodontists, medical professionals, and educated patients seeking the most advanced, innovative, and least invasive techniques available to treat gum disease. Dr. Linden is currently preparing clinical cases for publication.

History

Established in 1985.

I am a periodontist (gum disease specialist) in the field of Laser Periodontal Surgery which includes LANAP, using multiple lasers with different wavelengths to treat gum disease and failing implants, traditional periodontics, regeneration, laser extractions, and dental implants. I have been practicing my specialty since 1985. I am an occasional guest expert in the Oral Health, Men’s Health, and Women’s Health communities of WebMD.

I was one of the first practitioners to perform the FDA-​cleared LANAP protocol on the east coast of the United States. With nearly three decades experience in periodontal specialty practice, I now perform LANAP and offer other laser procedures every day. I have treated thousands of patients with the laser and in some cases, when necessary, include traditional techniques. Also, since 1988, I have been placing dental implants and using an innovative conservative sinus augmentation technique that I perfected.
