I don’t normally write reviews but I feel the need to. Nelson is very nice, but the ‘salon’ was dirty, unprofessional, and messy. Clothes in piles, hair on the floor, random trash, etc. The comb was stained, straightener rusted — and I had to ask him to re-​straighten parts of my hair once my treatment was over.
I felt like I was being punk’d. He tried to charge me for a hair wash, but didn’t when I acted surprised. He was an awesome, nice fellow but I didn’t enjoy my experience there.

I just had my hair done this afternoon and wish to join the list of those who are so happy with Nelson. I’ve eyed the reviews and did my research. I finally made the decision to try the salon for a Brazilian blowout. Nelson took his time in examining my hair, discussing my ideas and it was three hours of personal attention. He took such pride in doing a beautiful job. Moreover, I especially enjoying our engaging conversation! I am almost hesitant to share such a find, but feel as if Nelson deserves such acclaim. I couldn’t be happier with my hair and the transformation with the cut that he gave me.

Nelson is amazing!

I love this place. My mother and I made had an amazing experience. We went to get hair treatments either Brazilian blowouts or something to calm our hair down. Nelson went out of his way to fully understand our hair, our needs and our time. For me I had the braziian blow out and for my mom he took extra time fully understanding her hair, to prescribe the best solution — which was some form of the japanese straightener. We both loved our hair and Nelson. I can’t recommend him enough. We plan on going back for hair cuts very soon.

I don’t write too many reviews, but I woke up this morning after a fantastic wedding last night and can honestly say — it was great because my hair looked amazing, and my skin looked great. Both are because of this salon. (which is now on canal and lafayette, btw)
I wish I knew what made Nelson’s cuts so great — I’ve never had cuts that look this good, this clean and this natural. I have straight fine hair, and it was hard to grow it out w/​o it looking limp and unstylish. His cuts have added body and just enough sexy volume — it’s now long and beautiful. I have a style that I love, that totally suits my personality, and my job — he takes the time to consider what each woman really wants out of her hair. I also go to him for blowouts before big dates or events, and leave with it looking gorgeous but not overdone or cheesy.
For facials, Tiffany is the best — I work downtown and was referred to her by a few friends at work, who apparently have given her a cult following. The facials are reasonably priced and take as long as they take — you’re not rushed out in 60 minutes. If it takes her two hours to get your skin looking perfect, she will spend two hours on you. She also sells some of the best moisturizers I’ve used — i have very sensitive skin and the «gold ball» moisturizer completely changed my skin. She can also do make-​up applications before events that, like Nelson’s blowouts, leave you looking perfect and not overly made up.
I hope this is helpful — if you’re looking for a salon that really caters to each person, that delivers every single time, I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

I went to get the brazilian blowout with Nelson (owner) back in November and it was such a great experience to talk to him. He is so nice and has a lot of experience. He also trimmed my hair a bit at no extra charge. His regular price for a haircut is a deal at around $ 70 and the brazilian blowout was the cheapest I found it for in manhattan at like $ 185 back then. They moved now and I haven’t seen the new place.
