Diamond Acupuncture

When I pulled out my lower and mid back last fall and could not walk, my boyfriend drove me to Diamond Acupuncture. I could barely walk to the door of the office. Ben first listened and asked questions about my condition, spending time measuring my pulse and looking at my tongue. He treated me first, facing up, for the trauma of pulling out my back, by needling my pressure points in my hands and my feet. Then I turned over and he gave me a massage that combined deep tissue and bone adjustment-​gently restoring my body. And after that, he needled my troubled areas in the back, taking time to figure out exactly where to put the needles in my back. Overall, he spent so much more time treating me than any other doctor I’ve ever had. I felt so much better and was able to walk out of his office without the shooting pain I felt coming in, and after another treatment two days later, I was well enough to go back to work. Benjamin Diamond is an amazing healer.

I’ve been going to Ben for about two years now. My first appointment was to treat neck pain. Ben was incredibly thorough during my intake assessment and after diagnosing the source of the problem he did an acupuncture process that alleviated both my pain and also a whole lot of stress. I’ve been back several times since, for various ailments including «tennis elbow,» digestive issues and muscle pain. Each appointment he is just as thorough in his assessment and diagnosis and incredibly gentle and compassionate in his application. Within a day or two of my treatments, I always feel significantly better.

When all a doctor could do for my pain was give me Vicodin, and even that didn’t help, I went to see acupuncturist Ben Diamond. The relief was amazing.
I’m not a huge follower of alternative healing, and I’m freaked out by needles. But Ben’s straightforward demeanor, along with his breathing techniques for easing me through the needles, was reassuring and comforting He explained what he was doing before and during, and I was so relaxed I actually drifted off to sleep. And the treatments worked!
Not fancy. No muzak and fountains. He has a room in the back of what looks like a graphic arts studio in Chiatown. But it’s clean, the treatment table is comfortable and I like the non-​clinical feel of the place. I think the low key location helps to keep his price down. And it’s like you have to be in-​the-​know to even find out about him. No website, he keeps busy with just word of mouth. A real find!
