De Nueva Photography

When my husband and I decided to elope in NYC we had no idea the direction or how to tackle an elopement states away. I found Nikki and fell in love with her work. Her blog had many helpful idea and how to go about an elopement in NYC. Once I contacted Nikki she responded back fast and was willing to help me with anything I needed. She has lots of insight into weddings, elopements, New York City, and of course capturing amazing photography. We had our photos from the elopement back within a week and loved EVERY single one. Thank you Nikki! We can’t wait to go back to NYC in a year to have our one year anniversary photos done by Nikki.

We absolutely loved working with Nikki. First, her photographs were incredibly beautiful and she captured precisely the kind of candid and naturalistic moments that we wanted. Her eye for action photography is incredible! The photos of the reception look incredible and really convey the big and small moments that made the day so special. Also critical, she was very accommodating and so easy to work with. We were a bit behind schedule on the day-​of, cutting into photography time, and Nikki nevertheless got exactly the photos that we wanted. She was an absolute pro. Five, six, seven stars for Nikki.

Nicki was fantastic to work with! We hired her to document our elopement in Central Park, and she not only helped us pick our location, she suggested times for the best lighting and places to take photographs after the ceremony. She is unbelievably easy to work with, very responsive and most importantly all her photographs turn out amazing. You won’t regret hiring Nicki to document your special day/​event/​anything!

We hired nicki to come down with us to the carribean. My wife is an art history major and I have been photographing (amateur) for about 16 years. Nonetheless, we were quite particular about who we were going to hire and her work stood out from the rest! We trusted her instinct, eye, setup and instructions.
She is very easy to work with and gets to know you. We had met her in a coffee shop months ago when we were planning a 50 person wedding in new york. When things changed and we changed our plans, she adjusted as well.
Her passion really comes through when you have a session with her. She is not afraid to get dirty, not afraid to push the limits. She could take the easy and lazy way out, but she does not. It really felt like she had a personal, vested interest in getting us the highest quality photos.
She is very responsive via email. Her rates are reasonable for the quality of work she does.
Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Nicki was a treat to work with. She knew just how to coax great pictures out of a couple of shy, stressed introverts on the day of our wedding, taking us on a walk through the nearby area to get a variety of artistic shots before the portraits and candids of the wedding and reception. We had a quirky wedding with some unique events, all of which she captured well. I think we forgot to warn her about the Worst Dance, where everyone competed to dance as poorly as possible, but her reaction time ensured plenty of blackmail material on our relatives.
Her photos turned out great, and we enjoyed the presentation she made of them both in an online album and in the fun way she shipped them to us (which I won’t spoil here).

We surprised our parents with a wedding in Central Park on May 15^th, 2015 and needed a photographer. I chose Nicki because her website and sample photos were the style I was looking for, and because her super positive attitude when we talked on the phone made me feel completely at ease!
We met at the Central Park bandshell, and took pictures in that area. Nicki knew a bunch of great spots (admittedly at first I didn’t see what was so good about the location, but after the pictures came I was amazed!!! She knows her stuff!).
Nicki was great on timing and we made it to the surprise wedding location on time. She captured everything beautifully and was so fun to work with. My husband typically is really nervous to take photographs but he felt so at ease with her direction.
Also amazing — Nicki posted a preview with 5 – 10 shots on her blog for us the same day! This was great because we wanted to let our extended friends and families in on the surprise too. It was nice to be able to post the link for everyone and share the day with them.
Final photographs came 2.5 weeks later. She sent a link to an online album to download the pics. I forwarded this to our parents so they could download what they liked. The photos were so good that I can’t decide which to print out!

Nicki is great! She was friendly, responsive, flexible, and most importantly, she took fantastic pictures. We felt very lucky to have found her for our wedding photos. I recommend her very, very highly — the service could not be better!

I’ve been a Unilocal lurker for years, but am finally signing up just so I can sing Nicki’s praises. You’ve heard the song «Everything Is Awesome» from the Lego Movie? It might as well be Nicki’s theme song! We were so lucky to be able to work with her for our wedding, and beyond pleased not only with how professional and soothing she was on the big day, but also with how wonderfully her many stunning shots came out. My husband and I are so glad we found her, and give her our highest recommendation!

Nicki is the greatest, and «working» with her for our wedding was a delight. She’s low-​key — but also on top of everything — which is the best combination on a day that’s inevitably pretty bonkers. The whole experience, from finding her on Offbeat Bride (Nicki is unfazed by /​delighted by expressions of uniqueness and personality) to meeting with her to the super-​easy and reasonably priced business side of things to the TOTALLY AWESOME TIME we had with her at our wedding to the amazing, happy, perfectly «our wedding» photos she took, could not have been more perfect. She has a natural warmth and genuineness that infuses her photography, which is authentic yet magical… every moment at its best. I could rave about her all day.

Nicki was fantastic to work with on our wedding day. Not only does she create beautiful photos but she was easy to get along with, and comfortable to be around and work with. She’s funny, down to earth, and honest when poses look or feel awkward. She’s good at making a nervous bride get back in to her silly self. She gave directions that were easy to work with, and that made the photos turn out great. She even got to the wedding site before we did, and was ready to go when we got there!
She was flexible and a nice calming, reassuring presence. When family drama came up, she was respectful and able to held me keep calm. It didn’t phase her at all, and she was able to roll with the drama really well. She was great at corralling family members for group photos, and was on top of our numerous family photo requests.
Can I talk about how gorgeous the photos are? I’m so happy with the way they turned out, and I felt like she really understood the vibe that we were going for, and able to capture it. She caught so many special moments. She even stayed after her contracted end time when our reception events were running behind schedule so that she could get photos of us dancing (which are some of my favorite). She was even fine with traveling all the way to Philly from NYC.
Nicki has really reasonable photography rates — an added plus, considering the photos are such high quality! I would highly recommend her, particularly if you are looking for someone who will be a low key, down to earth, friendly presence by your side on your wedding day to remind you that everything will be just perfect (and trust me, you most definitely need that.)
