Starting out as a strictly mobile beauty service of makeup artists, damali nyc opened up its studio in 2010. Since our inception we have expanded to include hair stylists, manicurists, estheticians, an accupunturist and other beauty and wellness professionals to our roster. Business Owner

Founder and creative director of «damali nyc», Heidi brings over 17 years experience as a beauty professional. Her career started with a small and upcoming makeup line called Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, it was there that her craft was perfected, by working with hundreds of women of all ages, ethnicities and unique preferences. After a decade of service she left to nurture her entrepreneurial spirit, which led to the creation of «damali nyc».

A Certified Advanced Lash Stylist representing Xtreme Lashes she has built up an impressive «eyelash extension» following. Mentored and trained by L.A. based «Celebrity Eyebrow King» Damone Roberts”, she is also New York State Certified to perform eyebrow waxing/​sculpting as well as body waxing.

Celebrity clients have included, Estelle, Kathrine Heigl, Keysha Cole, Eva Longoria Evangeline Lilly, Anne Rice, and Lil Kim to name a few. Her work can be seen on campaign ads for Polo, Showtime’s «Californication», Sprite, Jim Bean, Pantene, and Prudential

I hired Heidi and her team to do makeup and hair for a couple days for some events that the company I work for had in NYC. We had a lot of last minute changes, and Heidi and her team were extremely accommodating and their pricing was very fair. The hair and makeup was FLAWLESS. Thank you all SO much, we are so appreciative and look forward to working with you again in the future!

I booked an appointment at Damali for eyelash extentions. The online booking system does not tell you that the location is only in SoHo. Once that was confirmed, the day before the appointment, I made my way over there to see Heidi.
Heidi is extremely friendly and her set up is very relaxing. I’m not very good at sitting still for so long, but suprisingly, I was able to be there for 2 hours– not moving.
My eyelashes looked really good when Heidi was done.
I was expecting to love them and have them look this way for 2 weeks.
Unfortunatley, with in a couple hours one of the lashes moved down and was scratching my eye. 48 hours later most of them were crossed over, which was expected after sleeping. however, no matter how many times I brushed them back into some kind of order– they remained crossed.
I tried to go back on 2 occassions but either Heidi didn’t work on the days I could get to SoHo or she cancelled on me last minute.
I hever went back for the free first follow up. I felt that for all the money that was paid, the end product after a few days and follow up were not professional.
I realize this can be just my experience, and others have had great long term results.
I think Heidi is a nice person but it became too difficult to get things fixed.

I purchased an eyelash extension deal through living social, as did my sister, and we were super excited to get our glamorous eyelashes done. After some trial and error with the appointment line (appointments are handled by an independent 3rd party service) we were booked each for an hour long appointment, one after the other.
Not once did the random people we spoke to on the appointment line tell us the location to go to, so we assumed we’d be going to 574 5th Avenue. When I showed up there for my appointment, I was unable to get in, and people who worked on other floors of the building told is that Damali closed months ago! Imagine my shock and surprise, considering we had confirmed just the day before. I called the appointment line and they eventually had Heidi, the owner, call me back.
I hustled to the NEW location, 552 Broadway in Soho, and was greeted by Heidi — who was very friendly. The new location is a small room inside a yoga/​pilates studio (kinda freaky looking because of all the random apparatus).
Heidi was wonderful! She was sweet as can be, gentle, quick, and AMAZING at what she did. After less than 2 hours (once we got to the right location), my sister and I had long luscious lashes that don’t look the least bit fake.
After the confusion and hassle, we couldn’t be happier. All’s well that ends well, right?

Damali is on the top of my list —
I happend upon the salon because of a series of very NY type of events. This place rocks — one of the best manicures and eyebrow wax and tint I have had, to the point that when I can, I will make the trip to get there even though it’s not near where I work or where I live.
I work in the movie business and have had some of the best hair and make up peeps that are known, but these gals are incredible. Thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up!

REVIEW for Diamond Macrodermabrasion Body and Face (picture posted)
I came in, Jessica the Esthetician give me a terry wrap then told me to wait for her in the room. She was nice, and answered all my questions. I noticed that Body and Face were done seperate but she decided to do it Together (perhaps that’s because I had a LivingSocial Voucher). During the process she told me that the level of intensity she used on my body was the same she was using on my face (talking about the machine here) and ask how i felt. I said I did not feel any pain (at least it was not so bad).
After 48 hrs, my face was covered with scars (see pictures) and I looked like I had a cat fight! I contacted the owner immediately and emailed her my pictures because I was concerned about my face.
She replied and came by my job to give me sample of product to help heeled my scars and see it for herself.
It’s been a week and it was a BAD EXPERIENCE for me. Jessica the esthetician was nice, and when he saw me today she explained to me that she never had anyone (except me) who had scars that lasted that long as far heeling.
Owner give me sample of product an offer me free Make Up session but you know what? I don’t ever want to go back there again! The ladies have great personalities and they are nice but I hate all the services I got from them.
This is my last review for Damali because I AM NOT GOING BACK even if it’s FREE! Gosh I hate to write this!

Review for Pomegranate Mani Pedi.
The salon itself is really nice, didn’t have an issue getting an appointment relatively quickly. The manicurist was nice, pretty friendly. The pedicure itself was okay, but agree with another Unilocaler that it was a bit uncomfortable to be seated in a chair on the floor with a bowl at your feet. She did do her best to make me feel comfortable during the process but it was just an awkward set-​up. The pedicure dryer was a small desk fan that didn’t do a good job of drying my toes thoroughly before I had to put my flats on and head out the door. The manicure was okay as well. Like the other reviews have stated, nothing special — the pomegranate portion of this consisted of a pomegranate scrub — that’s about it. It seems like manicure and pedicure services were added on as afterthoughts, as it’s more equipped to handle hair styling and make-​up application versus manicure and pedicures. When getting my things together I did smudge my nails and she did fix them however, when I asked for the original price (they were not visibly posted, and I used a Living Social voucher) she told me «$ 25 for the manicure and $ 65 for the pedicure», which resulted in me giving her a $ 20 tip. Once I left I looked up the prices and realized the total should have been $ 65 for both services (which in my opinion was still too much for the average service). Dishonesty — not cool.

This review is for the pomogranate mani/​pedi.
The settings at Damali was lovely. Very quiet, clean and nice music. I did not feel as though I was in midtown.
I came to Damali for a mani/​pedi as I wanted to try out a new place and this was a good opportunity when they had a LivingSocial coupon.
I was disappointed for the following reasons:
1) A tub is used for the pedi — there is no sink that you put your feet in. You and the pedicurist are sitting in chairs and she stoops over the tub to work on your feet. Your feet is being soaked, exfoliated and washed in the same water. You also place your foot on a shakey stool when it is being worked on.
2) I am used to sterilized individually packed instruments, sitting under UV rays. The instruments here were placed pulled out from a tool box. I later saw that there was some liquid that the instruments were sitting in.
3) I am used to nail polish colors sitting neatly on the shelves, in color order. Bottles would also be clean. The bottles here were in all sorts of orders. The bottles also had congealed and hardened nail polish at the rim.
The person working on my nails seem nice and my nails looked nice after. But I am used to a different level of hygiene and was disappointed in this area.

I went to Damali NYC this past Saturday to get my eyebrows waxed and my eyebrows have never looked so good and I promise they will never be touched by anyone else except for Damali NYC!
This beautiful boudoir called Damali NYC is very clean and has the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff. Can’t wait to go back!

Went here for the first time for a $ 30 Mani/​Pedi deal from Groupon; was not disappointed at all! When I went in I immediately felt like I came to the right place, the salon was beautiful and they took my coat and offered me water all within the first few minutes.
I had Silvia do my nails and she was extremely nice; normally at other places I always refrain from talking but I felt really comfortable here. The mani/​pedi was great and I loved how soft my legs felt after the scrub they used, they felt rejuvenated and new! What really took me by surprise was how Silvia even told me that when I come back she would give me the same price that I paid with the groupon, EVERYTIME!!! Isn’t that crazy?!
I can’t wait to go back for another mani/​pedi and perhaps a facial too! Trust me, if you go to this salon you will not regret it, they take their time to ensure that as their customer, you are completely satisfied!

I purchased eyelash extensions on groupon from Damali. The staff was nice, but it was overpriced for what I got. The extensions really only lasted for 1.5 weeks. I think the woman was under the weather and forgot to tell me not to get them wet for 24 hours. A key piece of information. I went in for a touchup after two wks and finally received proper instructions for care. However, the lashes really didn’t last much longer. Also, the application wasn’t exactly seamless. The extensions occasionally got stuck to the lower lashes and so the woman had to go in with tweezers and try to pull the lower and upper lashes apart. I’m sensitive about my eyes. It made me a little nervous. It was fine at the end of the day, but I’ve since been to a different salon for eyelash extensions. Now i know what great is… the service at the new place was seamless, got a massage, and the lashes have lasted longer… and it was the same price as the 100 bucks I spent on the Damali groupon.

I have come here twice for facials (through Groupon) and was extremely happy with the friendliness of the staff. The esthetician customizes your facial by examining what kind of skin you have and what treatment would be best for you.
All the products she used were organic and super deliciously scented. After cleansing and exfoliation, she proceeded with extractions, concentrating on the T-​zone and especially the nose. My nose felt like a silk unicorn afterwards.
I had a mud mask to clear toxins and to smooth my face, with a hydrating mask afterwards.
PLUS, the esthetician gives you nice scalp, shoulder, and arm massages!
I give this place 4 stars because I would have liked more extractions, but it was a really wonderful experience for me.

Bridal makeup reigns supreme at Damali NYC, where shimmering chandeliers drip from the ceiling and the blue and white Hollywood Regency décor makes you feel like you are all wrapped up in a sparkling Tiffany’s blue box.
I had the most gorgeous makeup done by Heidi for my NYC wedding, and could not have been happier. As a former model, I’ve experienced many makeup applications, and Heidi is by far the most talented artist I have ever had. I felt so glamorous at my wedding, and my photos came out absolutely stunning.
Damali is the kind of place you can go to feel peaceful and pampered, and if Heidi knows you are stopping by, you can be sure she’ll be playing your favorite song in the salon.
