History
Established in 2011.
Rev. Samora is an award-winning officiant and ordained interfaith minister. Samora had been working as a professional singer/pianist in the wedding business for 12 years when she became ordained through The New Seminary in 2008. Common Ground Ceremonies was started in 2011 after Rev. Samora presided over a friend’s wedding and completely fell in love with it. Common Ground Ceremonies has recently been awarded The Knot «Hall of Fame» Award and won The Knot «Best of Weddings» for the past 4 years as well as Wedding Wire’s «Couple’s Choice» Award for the past 5 years.

Business Owner
Rev. Samora Smith is a native New Yorker who was ordained in 2008 through The New Seminary of Interfaith Studies. Rev. Samora was born into an Interfaith, multicultural family and has a deep passion for serving this community. She grew up studying music and has been exposed to many different cultures and backgrounds. Rev. Samora is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH counselor, a program to assist couples with pre-marital support. Rev. Samora also works as choir director for The Boys’ Club of NY All-Star Band since 2007.
