Hidden away with a basement entrance in the middle of Bond St. in NoHo CHCM is a nice relaxing place to shop. It was very busy the day I came through on account of the sale. The staff were very friendly and went to great lengths to help customers find something that fit their needs as well as give feedback on certain combinations etc… The store itself is very spartan, only a few shelves and racks display their wares. It makes the store seem more spacious which is needed since the location is very small(NYC real estate) Everything is very carefully and meticulously laid out, and they carry a lot of my preferred brands like J. Press and Drakes. Low pressure and knowledgeable sales staff, and quality goods. Can’t ask for much more.

I have debated long & hard about writing this review, as I sometimes like to keep good secrets to myself. However, seeing as CHCM has been open for nearly a year and no one has reviewed it yet, I figured I shouldn’t hold back any longer, as this secret deserves to be shared. CHCM is one of my favorite menswear stores in the whole world. The owner, Sweetu Patel, buys with exacting precision, carrying a selective group of lines known for strong lineage and good design sense, many of which cannot be found easily in New York — Monitaly, Sunny Sports, and Drakes are just a few of them. The goods here are not exactly wallet-friendly, but they are built to last and will stand the test of time. I kind of hate to use the word ‘curated’, as I feel it has become largely overused, but it describes CHCM’s approach perfectly. This unassuming shop is one of my favorite places to look for gifts or even for myself — many of their pieces are small enough to fit me, which is an added bonus. Sweetu is also one of the kindest and most genuine shopkeepers I’ve ever met, and plays great music. If you’re looking for well-tailored menswear basics that look good and feel good, look no further than CHCM.
