Went there and didn’t know that Choice had been closed down. So I wasn’t in the mood for this type of place to begin with, but thought I’d give it a fair shot. The health inspection rating of B should have been my first sign to go elsewhere. The food was subpar– I got a chicken sandwich and the sauces on the sandwich made it soggy and drippy and the flavors were strange. My friend got the steak wrap and when it came, it wasn’t a wrap at all. It was tucked into a pita, sort of like a taco. She said it was extremely salty and didn’t care for it. We mentioned it to our server and she took it off the bill, which was nice. This wasn’t the worst place I’ve been to, but I certainly won’t be going back — this is NYC and a health inspection grade of A and decent food are a dime a dozen. I have nothing bad to say about the service — the bartender was attentive and nice enough. Their service won’t bring me back here though. Pick somewhere else.

Been here a few times and I really do not have any problem with this place except for the fact that it never gets crowded. Now, I know at times it’s cool to go to a spot that doesn’t get too packed so you can get seats and have a good time with friends and whatnot but for the 4 or 5 times I have been here there is never more than 30 people here and it is a big space. I don’t know what it is whether word has not gotten out yet about Canz in Manhattan or just that there is such a variety of bars in the area but for there not to be a lot of people that come through, especially when they have good looking bartenders brings the energy level down. Last time I was here was 2 weeks ago and one of the waitresses said that they are renovating soon and probably changing there name so hopefully it will get more people in. Other than that though it is a very good spot to watch games, and like the other Canz Roadhouse locations they have a variety of beer choices and good food compared to other sports bars. The bartenders/waitresses are very attentive and cool. Hopefully after there renovation things will improve where they can get more people to come this spot but either way I am still a fan.

I came here yesterday with a group of girlfriends around 7:30 to watch the Knicks game and was actually pleasantly surprised at the interior of this place. It was slightly hooters-esque(but classier with all the bartenders and servers in skin tight black pants!) The place was packed with guys. businessmen coming after work, late college guys, awkwardly standing older men, grouped around everywhere. We found a table all the way in the back in this back room which looked kind of like a large wooden cabin. The place has a TON of flat screens and it’s very spacious. Seems like a fun place to come with a group of friends to enjoy a couple beers and a sports game. After sitting, it took a long time for our waitress to come to our table, but it was understandable as it seemed like two other large groups of guys(10+) just sat down in her section as well. After putting in our order for drinks and a veggie burger and loaded fries at around 7:30, it took around 15 min for us to get our drinks. I had to send my beer back after our server brought out a magic hat for me instead of the stella that I asked for. No biggie, I thought as I watched her precariously carry out pitchers of beer to the huge tables of dudes, so I settled back into my chair to watch the game. By this time(8ish) my stomach was calling for food after not having eaten lunch since 12pm and every time a food runner came out with food my heart rose and sunk a little bit. Something fishy was going on with the food orders as food runners had almost no idea whose food was whose and was constantly coming up to our table«Did someone order the quesadillas?» «…no» happened at least 3 times before he came to our table with our«Veggie Wrap». Our server quickly came up to us to apologize profusely and proceeded to say that she accidentally put my order in as a wrap instead of the burger… and it would be a bit longer for the burger. Okay, what else could I say? My hunger was now approaching dangerous levels and I just wanted food eventually. My friend(who had just arrived) made another veggie burger order and we patiently, albiet a bit grumpily due to hunger, waited for our food. When ANOTHER veggie wrap was brought to our table, I looked our food runner in the eye and firmly said«No. we ordered two Veggie BURGERS» So, in addition to the Knicks losing the game and the annoyingly loud groups of guys groaning and ostentatiously eating their burgers, nachos, and plates of wings in front of me, I was now 1.5 hours into«dinner» with no food. Finally, when our burgers both came out(around 9PM) we bit in enthusiastically and I was really disappointed. The menu said that the burger comes with lettuce, onions, tomatoes(and doesn’t every burger.) and all that was in ours was the patty and cheese(and extra mushrooms on mine, glad they didn’t forget that). I quickly flagged down our waitress and told her and she had to have someone else bring out lettuce tomatoes and onions for us… Although my food experience was less than desirable, this place has a great selection of drinks and after 9pm rolled around, they had a 1 $ well drink special for ladies(9pm-12am) that wasn’t valid at the table but when we moved to the bar the bartender happily gave us pretty strong drinks. She possibly didn’t know that the promotion had«ended» according to a manager looking girl that we had asked at the table. Having worked in the restaurant industry intermittently since 2007, I try my best to be the best customer and almost never get upset, however, sometimes my stomach gets the best of me. So disappointed with the service and food, but I was happier after moving to the bar and getting 5 drinks for 5 $…

3.5. You’re in for a surprise once you enter the bar because looks are deceiving and so is their HH advertising. Their space is HUGE, not to mention the dizzying array of TVs. This time, Pourhouse may be in for some competition. HH says $ 1 drinks on Thursdays for the ladies but note, it starts at 9pm and is limited to watered down well drinks(still, a good deal though). But, no worries, really. With a huge selection of both bottle and can beers and enough to choose from for draft, this is as good as it gets for beer variety around this part of town. Food is a hit or miss based on the tidbits of our orders. Artichoke dip is definitely not worth getting but their nachos are decent. Fries are solid. Bottom line: space is great for sports fan and bar enthusiasts who dig loud music. Only reason why I don’t rate this place higher is because the music was a too loud for me.

One of the poorer sports bars in this area. The only saving grace is the good beer selection, although the atmosphere and bad service make getting a beer extremely unpleasant. The food is terrible, and you will be waiting a very long time for it. The last time I went with a friend, we waited two hours for a burger and a sandwich. The manager offered to comp the sandwich and give a free round of beers. We appreciated the gesture… until we saw that the sandwich was not comped. Really not worth the aggravation when there are so many better places to grab a burger and a beer within a few blocks.

So I go back to this place because I think it would be a perfect spot to throw my NBA Beer Pong Tournament. Not to mention this is the 5th annual. Anyways, everyone must wear NBA jerseys and teams are composed of 1 dude and 1 chick. So, «Canz» claims they won’t allow beer pong. AREYOUKIDDING? You allow the C squad from Hooters to clean your tables and I can’t have a few people throw some balls in a cup? I am just outRAGEd. Cool CC Sabathia. Cool.

When you find yourself on 3rd ave and are in the mood for a watered-down fish bowl, you best come to Canz. My favorite part is the waitstaff! Cute, small girls wearing black Canz tanktops and shorts any time of year; and they are nice! On Thursdays, ladies drink for something like $ 2/mixed drink after 9pm. I saw this sign outside so I went in around 7pm(not realizing it was for later) and asked for the special. My waitress had just started working that night and was nervous and didn’t know what I was talking about but gave it to me anyway only to realize that it was too early for that. It was fine though, a little comm mishap, she handled it well. What more can you ask for? I often see a mix of suits and college kids here. Never bothered to go beyond the tables right where you walk in. Order the jungle juice fish bowl($ 30)! You can see the picture of it right on the top of this review. It was a bunch of alcohol and juices mixed in with fruits hanging out. Its yummy and pretty to look at, not very strong though.

Easy to like this spot. Good wings, decent beer selection, even though my snobbish ass would prefer that they have higher-quality beers. I ended up with a tallboy Schlitz at one point, which tells you what you need to know about the beer menu. Their beer tier(three 7 oz. drafts for $ 9) is fun to try if you value divvying up your beers. The waitresses are fun to look at. The one serving us was really nice, fairly attentive. She poked fun at me for drinking my PBR slow.(Which I did because at my normal drinking pace I would’ve drank 10 and puked on someone.) I also had their sliders, which were surprisingly good. I’ve accepted that every place overcooks its burgers, especially bars, so my standards for what makes a good burger has lowered. Still, they’re good enough and I believe they were under $ 10. This is a perfect spot if you have a big group of people to watch football or basketball.

I had had a very bad day yesterday and my good friend Anthony from Westchester was sweet enough to come down to NYC to comfort me. Knowing he likes watching televised sports, eating pub grub and looking at busty women, I figured I should treat him to dinner at Canzaciti. I was originally mad at Canzaciti for taking over where Choice, my favorite bar ever, used to be. I’ve made peace with it though. The food was surprisingly good – Anthony had a BBQ burger and I had a Caesar salad. Also, one of my guilty pleasures is having popcorn at a bar so overall, I was pleased. My one complaint was that they seemed really understaffed. Canzaciti was PACKED(big pay-per-view boxing game on) and there seemed to be only one waitress there. I forget her name but she had platinum blonde hair and couldn’t have been nicer. I’ll probably be back at some point(nice to see a place with so many straight guys) or at least for delivery because that salad was great.

THEWORST. The absolute worst bar in New York. I wish Unilocal gave me an option for zero stars, but by default, I’ve been forced to give it a 1. Let’s start by saying that the food is vile. You’d think a bar owned by CC Sabathia would put at least some thought into their food — but no. No thought. Just slop on a plate and puke in a basket. I came here with 4 guys(we’re who they’re supposed to be appealing to right?) and we ordered wings(slimy, fatty, small, and rancid), Nachos(chili from a can, cheese from a toilet, and guacamole from a Gristede’s dumpster), Chicken Fingers(only came with 3 measly stumps with no sides and the waitress couldn’t figure out what it meant when we asked for BBQ Sauce & Honey Mustard), and a bunch of other random grime that came out 2 hours after we ordered it. The best part was when we ordered Spinach & Artichoke dip, the plate came with literally 7 chips on it. We asked the waitress if we could have more and her response was«Sorry they’re making nachos in the kitchen so we don’t have chips right now. I’ll see if I can get more.» What a joke. I could write this review for hours more, but I fear that the longer it is, the more deterred Unilocal-goers will be from reading it, and I simply want to get my point across. DON’T GOHERE. EVER. If somehow you end up here, leave. Oh and the toilets didn’t flush and the bathroom smelled like a port-a-potty at the Indy 500.

I spent $ 85 here on football Sunday… and I’m a chick. The waitresses may have big breasts but they are money hungry. You’re better off going to a dive bar where the pitchers are 12 bucks. And the bitches, I mean waiters don’t tell you to tip 35%.

With a lot of TVs and a long bar, this is a good place to have drinks and watch sports as long as you’re ok with the roadhouse feel of the place and the considerably loud music blaring. Not really my cup of tea but ok for those who don’t mind having a lot going on around them.

Mixed reviews. Food and prices were fine for a bar. The beer selection was huge and fun(mostly cans), and the menu had something for everyone. The service on the other hand was non existent. Went last night for the huge LSU/Alabama Game. While it was crowded there, it was not packed and the size of the crowd at the bar should NOTBE an excuse for the poor service we received. It took about 25 minutes for us to receive our 1st round of drinks, and the waitress blamed the crowd at the bar for the lag time it took for us to get our drinks. Keep in mind the bulk of our drink order consisted of cans of beer. I made the reservation and felt embarrassed that my friends were subjected to such poor service. I spent most of the meal looking for the waitress, and it really ruined the experience for me. The other poor service reviews are completely accurate. Don’t let the waitress leave your table unless you have asked for everything you will need for the next 20 minutes. Our appetizers were cold by the time we all received small plates to eat off of. Also — while there are a ton of TVs, none of them are large enough to be seen from across the room. My seat had a view of about a dozen TVs, but not a single one was large enough for me to really see the action of the football game. Lastly — while it is a fun atmosphere, they are not really equipped to seat parties larger than 6 due to the size of their tables. If you have a large group going out, don’t go here if you are more than 6 people.

This place is such a shame. It has the potential to be a great spot in Murray Hill, but the service is simply unbearable. I’ve been twice, and both times my food orders have been completely botched. The waitresses only come by once in a blue moon, so make sure you order everything you need while you have their attention. Also, don’t forget to check your bill, because our bill was wrong on both instances. With so many other options within 27th and 28th, there’s absolutely no reason to go to Canz.

Came here with my boyfriend and friend on a thursday night and they were pretty dead. The music was blaring at a club level and we had to scream across the table the entire time. Our waitress was polite and pretty but screwed up my wing order. I asked for the super hot ones and got mild. They have a great selection of beer and have a few craft beers that are pretty hard to find. The food is not that good. The sliders were awesome but the wings, steak panini, and quesadilla definitely have room for improvement. I didn’t expect to get a piece of steak on a bun, it should have been sliced up. All I tasted was fat and mayo. If you’re going to come here stick with the beer and dessert. And make sure you ask for everything you need while the waitress is at your table otherwise you’ll be asking the bus boys for plates, ketchup, and silverware.

Went there for lunch. No host to greet me so I sat at a table where I was ignored for 10 minutes. I finally asked for a manager and I was told they were having«glitches.» I said ignoring customers is not a glitch but a serious problem. This manager didn’t even offer me a coke to say she was sorry for the way I was treated. Need less to say I will never return.
