The staff leave you alone if you’re browsing but there is always someone near to cheerfully help you if need be. They are a smaller BB&B then you’ll find in other cities, but it’s nice to have them here at all.
Sometimes they are the only business in Manhattan that carries what you’re looking for, e.g. SodaStream carbonation machine refills.
They’re not inexpensive, about on par with Amazon, but I get 15% off coupons regularly in the mail and that’ll get me in there to buy some more kitchen items. I usually end up going in for one item and ending up buying a few more of their ingenious gadgets.
It is worth saying again though, and is the reason why I came to Unilocal to review them: The staff is consistently friendly and when it isn’t busy I’ve found myself just having an interesting conversation about cooking, etc. They are bright and well-​informed about their business.
