I am saddened to have to write a less than stellar review of this dental practice. After searching through my insurance website for a dentist in NYC accepting new patients, I was directed to this office. After calling to set up an appointment I confirmed once again that they accepted my insurance.
I have always been a low risk dental patient (no braces, no cavities, no nothing) and proceeded to schedule a cleaning. After getting in the chair I was told I had three cavities and I too trusting allowed the dentist to work on my teeth.
The next day I was in excruciating pain, could barely eat or drink due to the sensitivity to anything colder than room temperature. I immediately scheduled another appointment and was seen the same week. I was assured by the dentist that it was my bite, and he smoothed my teeth to «fix it». Although this follow up appointment was in regards to the previous appointment, the dentist didn’t hesitate to charge me again even though it was to correct their initial mistake.
Still unable to drink water without excruciating pain, I found another dentist recommended by a family friend. In the end, I needed to have all of my fillings performed by Alan Berdan Dentistry replaced and a root canal.
$ 5,200 later and I am finally back to normal.
Be cautious.

I can’t say enough good things about the staff and Dr. Berdan himself. I had such a terrible experience at my last dentist (re: Dr. Horri @ Brilliant Smile) that I was dreading visiting a new one in the city. The office staff at Berdan’s practice were so empathetic and quick to make me feel welcome. Dr. Berdan has AMAZING bedside manner and made me feel comfortable. He had such a wonderful attitude for seeing a patient on an early Saturday morning! I would be quick to recommend this practice to any of my friends or colleagues in the city!

Had scheduled an extraction with Dr. Kim and was pleased with the overall experience. The staff was amazingly accommodating and Dr. Kim was just fantastic. I had two wisdom teeth extracted — one of which was laying flat at a 90 degree angle. I can say that I felt absolutely zero pain. The doctor first topically numbed my gums before injecting local anesthetic and before injecting he would say «you’re going to feel a tiny prick» — which honestly, I didn’t even feel as he was so skilled. The post-​op care was amazing as well. I’d give this practice 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend it.
