Specialties
Our New York City, Soho based atelier provides an unprecedented vantage point to experience every nuance of creating exceptional denim, from the personal touch of our tailors to our pattern makers and sewers working behind glass — each bringing a pair of 3×1 jeans to life.
We have more than 700 pair of jeans in stock (ranging in sizes from 23 — 40), as well as an offering of more than 100 denim and novelty fabrics for customers who would like to create a custom or bespoke jean. We carry the finest American, Italian, and Japanese denims in the world, many of them exclusive to 3×1. A shortlist includes Amhot, Collect, Cone, Denim Area, Kaihara, Kurabo, and Kuroki. With more than one hundred different denims and chambray fabrics on hand, including some one hundred selvedge denims with varying ounce weights, shades and castes, there’s simply nothing like 3×1 in the world.
History
Established in 2011.
3×1 was born from a desire to reclaim a process that we love – making the finest quality jeans in the world.
3×1 offers men’s and women’s denim products, aka ‘ready to wear’, which are produced in our 15 Mercer Street atelier. We produce 22 – 25 pieces per day on average, each jean is sewn one piece at a time, and limited to either 8, 12, 16 or 24 pieces of production per style.
Meet the Business Owner
Scott M.
Business Owner
Denim designer/entrepreneur Scott Morrison launched his new denim brand, 3×1 in May 2011. The name is derived from denim’s standard weaving construction, the 3×1 RHT (Right Hand Twill), although the ‘3’ in 3×1 also represents Morrison’s third founding of a jeans brand. His first company, Paper Denim & Cloth, launched in 1999, and his second denim brand, Earnest Sewn, launched in 2004.
