Great Park

This park is pretty awesome and is perfect for birthday parties and family gatherings. It is almost always quiet and has a lot of pockets for you to setup your celebration without beings too close to other visitors. There is a nice pond filled with ducks and geese who love you long time if you feed them bread crumbs :) They have a small parking lot and ample street parking.

Huge park… always filled with kids, picnics, and people working out.
I like going here to throw a football or just walk around. Really clean park and with ample free street parking along with a small free parking lot.

Love taking the kids there but can’t stand the amount of duck/​bird poop. I wish there was a way they could pressure clean the sidewalk every one in awhile since kids play there.

This park brings back memories as a kid. Very nice place to bbq and have parties. It’s a big park, nice and clean, lots to do for the kids. They have playgrounds, a lake, small stage area, and running paths. This is one of the nicer parks in the area and I highly recommend going if you are looking for a good park.

Polliwog Park is a perfect little pocket park for helicopter parents to arrange play dates. Clean and tidy, the park has a sterile feel as if intended to be inside Disneyland. If you live in the neighborhood, it’s a nice place to walk to. Most inlanders only glimpse it as they’re driving past towards the beach. Anyone living west of Sepulveda probably doesn’t know it exists. Polliwog Park has the least dog-​friendly culture of any dog park I’ve ever encountered. I’d rather walk my dog on the parkway along Valley Drive.
The Manhattan Beach website boasts that at 18 acres, this is the largest and perhaps loveliest park in the South Bay area. This is a true statement if you never leave the bubble of MB, and you don’t consider the actual beach to be a park.
All in all a quiet little neighborhood park, good if you’re close and have little kids. With all the greater South Bay has to offer, I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit Polliwog.

I’ve been going here every weekend for a few weeks now and have found it to be the best park around. I raised it to the full 5 despite the need for better marking of dog paths and a sign to point to the dog run. Every Sunday there’s a great group of people there around 0800 – 0830. Dogs of all sizes and great owners too. I’ll be leaving in a few weeks and I think this is the place I’ll miss the most.

Great quiet park that most probably miss. Bonus is the botanical garden hidden away inside. Wish there was more rain/​water so there would be more flowers, but completely understand. The park was nice and quiet on my visit and I was able to sit on a bench and reflect on the times since past.

Manhattan Beach city planners, well done. This is a wonderful park with a huge lake, various spaces for kids, families, tai chi-​ers, yogis and runners alike. The lake is sizable and houses ducks which are enjoyable for the kiddos.
On Sunday afternoons from July through the first week of September, Polliwog Park plays host to Concerts in the Park. The concerts go from 5 – 7 pm and consist of a variety of bands! My sister and I went to listen to the swing band, The Wise Guys. They were phenomenal and I sincerely hope they return next summer! There is plenty of parking around the neighborhood and tons of space around the park to station your lawn chairs, blankets and various picnic furniture. Be sure to make a meal of it– you’ll be sorry if you leave the wine behind! The park allows some food vendors including CPK and snow cones. Oh yeah, and dancing is commended!

Polliwog Park is a sanctuary with water fowls that freely roam around. I saw turtles swimming about competing for crumbs of food that park patrons throw liberally into the lake. I later saw a sign prohibiting feeding.
It’s a peaceful park with children’s play area. It also houses a small botanical garden.

This place is full of park Nazis. I would give it 5 stars but we were seriously bothered by the ranger and park staff so much that it hindered our experience there.
I will preface this with the fact that our experience was on Fourth of July so they may just have been out in full force bc they were worried about how many ppl would be misbehaving there.
The park itself is gorgeous. Has a small dog run, has large walking path, a grass amphitheater type thing, picnic benches with grills and gazebos with picnic benches without grills. There is also a pretty lake and a pool on site (not sure who is allowed to swim in the pool or what the deal is with that).
You cannot bring your own grill. There are also various other rules that the park Nazis will come tell you you’re doing.
The walking path, for example, has paw prints all over it. Apparently you can only have your dog on the walkway if you’re walking it. It cannot be sitting on the pavement or the grass, it must be physically walking or you will be yelled at.
We tried having our dogs in the gazebo with us and they wouldn’t allow that either. The dogs were doing nothing wrong and not barking at anything.
There were these middle school aged kids walking around staring at everyone saying they were park staff, there was a ranger driving around staring at everyone, there was a police officer driving around and then there was this park manager that was apparently thinking he could go undercover in a Hawaiian shirt who was walking around taking pictures or ppl’s tables to make sure there wasn’t alcohol on it.
We felt like small children and it definitely took away from our experience. I’m not sure I will be back. It’s a pretty park but the people that work there or whatever are unpleasant and annoying.

Nice park with plenty of room, playgrounds, exercise area and a man made lake with red eared slider turtles, ducks and fish. Very nice on the weekends or taking your dog for a walk along the trails. Safe playground equipment with lots of features and they also have a fenced in toddler playground. Spring and summer time concerts add to the fun. Spaces can be reserved for birthday parties and barbecues.
Plenty of street parking. Busier on the weekend.
***The toddler area is right next to the lake so you have to be extra careful with the little ones around.

Great fun for the kids with different play areas to keep them entertained. Remember to bring bread to feed the ducks and turtles in the pond. I love that the little kids play area is gated and separate from the bigger kids.
Bring a blanket there’s tons of grassy area to enjoy.

We wandered over to Polliwog park to enjoy our Lobster rolls from the Lobsta truck since it was right around the corner. Nice park with a large play structure for kids and a work out area for anyone over 14 years old. There are plenty of picnic benches and built in bbqs. Even though it was a Sunday and the park as pretty busy we had no problem finding a table to eat our lunch.

Polliwog Park is great, it caters to everyone! Concerts during the summer, playgrounds for the kids, workout area for those getting in shape, and a dog run space.
Now that I have a puppy, it’s great cause it has a small area for dogs. It’s located towards the back, right across the pond. The entrance is long and narrow, good to bring a ball or frisbee to run your dog. At the end there’s a little more space to run and that’s where the water is located. I went pretty late and there was one dog and they were leaving. So we had the place to ourselves. The only bad thing is that it is one dedicated space. They do not separate big and small dogs so be cautious when you go.

This is a great park. It has 3 different play areas. The one nearest to Manhattan Blvd is newer and my son really likes it. The little kid park is tiny and old, and so is the play area attached to it. I am not a fan of these two play areas.
Polliwog has a nice lake with lots of birds. There is plenty of grassy area to run around and have a picnic. They limit dogs to the doggy walking trail. There is a tiny Botanical Garden attached to the park.
A great place to spend a couple of hours with your kids.

What a great find in Manhattan Beach!!! This park is pretty massive. There are about 4 large play structures, an outdoor exercise area, a duck pond and plenty of grass to run around in! Parking is on the street which I had no trouble finding on a Tuesday morning. Bathrooms were decent but kind of stinky. Great place for adults to walk, run and then do some strength training in the fitness area. If I lived near here I could easily forego my expensive gym membership and exercise here for free!

From other reviews from fellow Unilocalers I didn’t realize this park was 19 acres! Supposedly one of the biggest parks in the South Bay!
This park is so peaceful and adorable lol I love watching the babies and kiddies frolic around and do cartwheels down the grassy hills. Ahhhhh baby fever hahaha the families here are so happy and there are lots of birthday parties.
Me and the bf went here recently for a picnic on a breezy Sunday afternoon. This is a great place to come play with your kiddies at the playground and walk your pups lol be careful with the kids and be very attentive because some of the jungle gym equipment is under construction like one slide that I noticed. You definitely don’t want bruised knees and scraped elbows!
My favorite was the pond lol I brought some bread for the ducks and enjoyed feeding them. Occasionally the turtles would flock around next to the ducks and rush for the food. There is even fishies in here and they’re huge I was trying to feed a turtle and a fish came out of no where and swooped up on the turtles meal lol I was scared I was like woah what is that??? A little girl laughed at me and said a fish. It was so long and slimy looking I thought it was a snake hahahaha
You can play frisbee golf here there’s a little course here and there are even gazebos!
Bring a blanket or a beach mat and find a nice shady spot under a tree. Lol you’ll definitely be relaxed and make some memories!

I grew up in the South Bay so Polliwog was a frequently visited place for me. All I want to say is… Bring back the pirate ship! That thing was the best part of my childhood. So sad it had to go. Arrrrrrr
They redid the park a few years back. They still have gazebos and the area for concerts. The shallow lake is beautiful with the ducks floating around. There’s still swings and a jungle gym and all the usual park fixtures for kids, plus BBQs for the adults on the outskirts. The school is next door so there’s some ball fields as well.
All in all the park caters to all sorts of visitors, big and small. And in a gorgeous town like Manhattan Beach you know it’s safe and well kept.
