History

Established in 1984.

The story of Old Venice started when Jimmy and Julie first open the doors for business together with their two children, Andrew and Natalie. The family business flourished here in this community by the beach, but as fate would have it, the original restaurant was destroyed by fire in 2006. The family vowed to rebuild and proceeded to wait the 2+ years it would take to bring their dream back to a reality. As fate once more intervened, Jimmy was tragically hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Manhattan Beach and did not survive his injuries. He entered into eternal life on July 4, 2008. The family continued with Jimmy’s plans to rebuild the restaurant exactly as Jimmy had planned and have created an atmosphere where his spirit can live on and his memory will be eternal. Please accept the Greek hospitality that Jimmy was so famous for while dinning at Old Venice. A family’s love for good food, good value, and good people, are here to serve you.

Meet the Business Owner

Andrew H.

Business Owner

Old Venice is family owned and operated since 1984. Andrew is the second generation Executive Chef of Old Venice. Having grown up in the restaurant, it was a natural transition for him to take over daily operations of the kitchen including all menu development and food production. His culinary role model is his chef/father Jimmy «The Greek», who passed on all his family recipes, personal secrets and pizza making skills to his son. Chef/owner Andrew takes great pride in his kitchen and is destined to carry on the legacy of Old Venice for years to come.
