Lux Builders And Remodeling

Over the past several months my husband and I have had the great pleasure of working with a true professional – Sagi Paul of Lux Builders.
From our first meeting through to the final door being hung, the process of remodeling our 2 bathrooms was flawless.
The process was smooth and – yes – it was fun! After visiting our home, taking measurements and discussing what we were looking for with my husband, Sagi came back a few weeks later as promised with drawings, estimates in writing and contracts. My husband had met with 4 other contractors and from that first meeting he knew Sagi would be our guy.
The day Sagi met us at our home with the above mentioned drawings, I confessed (?) to him that I was a art/​creative director working in the agency world and that I am very particular and all about the details. This bit of info never phased him, it was not a problem.
We were thrilled with all he had to say, the drawings, the estimate and his enthusiasm for the work he does. We were off and running – and the good news – the first stop was shopping! Toilets and sinks and faucets and a tub! Then tile, beautiful tile and he knew the exact place to take me where I could feel comfortable being my crazy design self! It was an exhilarating experience and Sagi was with us every step of the way.
Next came the demolition of our leaky upstairs bathroom. We knew we had leaking water issues and sure enough there were plenty. No problem, everything was fixed properly. Our first inspection with the city was flawless. Over his shoulder on his way out our front door, the inspector said, «those guys from Lux, they always do everything better than they need to.»
Each day I went off to work – other than the progress in the bathrooms – you would never have known they were here. My house was spotless. Every single one of Sagi’s craftsman are talented, true artists [and yes other than solid surface and shower doors everyone of Sagi’s craftsman are his employees]. The carpenter framer, the electrician, the plumber, the dry wall installer, the painter and the tile master [I give him that name because he is a master of his craft]. And did I mention, they all clean up at the end of every day!?!
And as soon as bathroom one was finished enough for use, bathroom 2 was gone! And with the same talent and expertise [and far less issues than in the previously evil bathroom 1] our downstairs bathroom was done! Including a re-​purposing of a hallway linen closet as a new bathroom linen closet, and a tear out and complete replacement of a water damaged bedroom closet [thanks again bathroom number 1 and it’s issues]. Plus, all new interior doors throughout our home!
While we are thrilled with the new bathrooms – best holiday gift to ourselves EVER– we were sad to see all our new friends leave for the final time. Crazy I know, but what a great bunch of craftsman we had the opportunity to have creating magic in our home! Now I’m figuring out what else we can remodel so we can work with Sagi Paul, and all our new friends at Lux again!

First off, the outcome was exactly what we were looking for (even though we didn’t know exactly what we wanted at the start)! We are so happy with the result, the process to achieve it and the optimized cost to value! Sagi and his partner really helped us make difficult design decisions making the process simple, easy for us to chose options and to adjust at every step of the way as we learned more about what we wanted. The customer service was first rate from both Sagi and his crew. They were courteous and responsive to us and all our needs. Best of all it was fun and interesting working together. We will be working with Lux again and recommending them to our friends. Thanks so much!

Lux Builders remodeled my first floor which included a new kitchen, bathroom, living room, family room, wet bar and entertainment center. I can tell you that the workmanship was first-​rate and Paul Sagi employs true craftsmen. He demonstrates a strong interest in my level of satisfaction with the work and goes to great lengths to ensure this. When the tilers completed the bathroom floor, wall and shower tile installation, for example, I told Paul that my choice of tile colors didn’t work once I saw it up on the walls. Paul immediately had the tilers replace the tile from one of the walls and nook areas with another color and this did the trick. The tilers weren’t happy because they had to drive across town in rush hour to get replacement tile and stay late to finish the work but Paul understands that customer satisfaction comes first. And so it went with all facets of our remodel… the wood flooring selection, the custom cabinetry, the paint colors… Paul patiently worked with us until we were satisfied with the outcome. I have no reservations in recommending Lux Builders for high quality remodeling work.

Lux Builders did an outstanding job on our small bathroom remodel. From the very first meeting, Paul (Sagi) really came across as friendly, professional, and committed to the quality of his work. He and his crew started and finished on time (critical for a single bathroom house :-)). While the project slightly exceeded our expected budget, it was only because of unforeseen «old-​house» issues, which were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Icing on the cake was the whole-​house cleaning service that was included as part of the package. All in all, we couldn’t be happier, & would highly recommend Paul & his crew!

Sagi and his crew turned my outdated and non-​functional bathrooms into clean modern works of art. Every step of this process was done in a clean and organized way; i.e. No dust or mess. The quality of the work is literally second to none. Perfect tile, perfect electrical, great design, glass done to perfection… even the grout and stone were flawless. Really reasonable prices, wonderful friendly crew, completed in a timely fashion and all done properly inspected. I couldn’t have asked for more. I’m recommending them to everyone I know. 10+ stars!!!

Paul Sagi of Lux Builders was recommended to me by a friend. I hired him over two other contractors partly because of her endorsement and partly because his presentation was the most professional.
I was completely happy with his services. He oversaw a $ 140,000 remodel of my condominium in Santa Monica. Throughout, he was responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. In addition, he knows his trade inside and out and has terrific craftsmen working for him. The foreman, painters, tile layers, electricians, cabinetmakers, and others were all pleasant, courteous, and highly skilled at their jobs.
I found Paul to be very reasonable and fair minded. When a downstairs neighbor’s pipes backed up and there was some possibility it might be due to my construction, Paul sent his plumber out immediately to fix it at no charge. He was organized and honest about the financial part of it. I never felt like he was taking advantage or trying to slip something by me.
The whole experience was remarkably drama-​free. When a problem or difference of opinion came up, we could always discuss it and work out a solution.
Paul is also committed to quality. I was delighted with the work done on my place. It looks great and I totally love it. So, all in all, I would definitely use Paul’s services again, and I would recommend him highly to build your dream home!

Can’t make appointments. It’s incredibly frustrating when you take time out of your work day to schedule an appointment and the vendor completely misses it. I won’t work with contractors who aren’t organized or seem to care about their customers’ time.

Sagi’s rebuttal is false and misleading. Firstly, I never mentioned the quality of his work because we never got to that point, as he violated the agreement. I was merely sharing my experience in which he falsifies the truth and blames customers for his convenience.
I «asked» if we could move the start date by a few days to avoid going over the Labor Day weekend. He said «Yes,» without hesitation. He then called the following week and clearly stated that because he got a larger project (more $$$), he had to cancel my project. Then, when I reminded him that it would be a breach of contract, he started blaming me for changing the start date. If that was true, he would not have said yes when I «asked» and we would have started the job as agreed.
If he had the decency to say that he got a larger project, which he cannot miss, and if he asked if mine could be delayed, then there would have been some communication. But lying like he did to get his way with no respect to people who only had a smaller job is what I called unethical. And rude.
